This week's update!

Hey gang! Another week, another ComicPOP update!

We got a LOT of action on that Marvel Mistakes video we did last week. In fact, it beat Back Issues to 20k views in a shorter amount of time, and we expected The Button to be a big episode. It's doing nicely, but the fact that the Marvel episode got a lot of traction is encouraging. I'm sure people were just looking to crap on Marvel, but I think people were thirsty for a legitimate conversation without hate and buzzwords. It gives us hope for the future, certainly. We're already plotting out the next discussion, which should be about Marvel's next movie phase. I don't think the discussions will blow up quite as often, but I like doing them, and it's a great show to make between Good, Bad, Ugly episodes.

We're working on GBU's return, and we're doing it with first issues of Venom mini-series! So we're gonna have Separation Anxiety #1, Carnage Unleashed #1, and The Madness #1. We're also thinking about folding a winner into Back Issues, but don't hold me to it!

Finally got back into shooting Letters Page! The next one is huge, holiday themed and full of CANDY!

No Off the Rack, but only because we didn't have time to film unfortunately. I only get the guys for a few hours once a week, and everybody had to go. We did shoot a few unboxings, which I love. Ethan is really getting into the experience which makes for a much more fun shoot (and hopefully viewing experience).

Elseworlds is being decided. It's always up in the air.

Back Issues this week is one I've been looking forward to for months. In honor of the Fox/Disney excitement, I was thinking about ideas that Fox was desperate to mess with to make their terrible cinematic universes work, and I got this lost classic from Chris Claremont-- Fantastic Four vs The X-Men! It's awesome.

We also shot Avengers/X-Men Bloodties, which should be ready to go in another week. I'm frustrated to say the audio recorder's batteries died about 20 minutes into filming, which happened before. It's happened twice since 2017, which is two times too many and thanks to this Patreon and all of you, I finally bit the bullet and bought a WAY nicer audio recording setup. We don't have multiple mics or a switchboard or anything yet, but we will have sound that's as good as our best, and a backup for posterity. This should make sure you never have to deal with the onboard mic from the HCX again. So Bloodties will be the last time you get sub-par sound. I'm really sorry it took us this long.

Oh, also we hit 60,000 subscribers this weekend! Thank you all for helping us get here, and getting us closer to my personal goal of hitting 100k in 2018. I truly believe it can happen, and with this incredible community, it's been proven that anything's possible. Live show is tentatively scheduled for 2/2, but I'll officially hash that out with the team and make it public knowledge in a few days. But wanted to give you an idea of what we're thinking.

Thank you all so much, and I'll be in touch! Anything else happens, I'll pop in and let you know!

Talk soon,

Sal

Fantastic Four vs. X-Men is one of my favorite mini-series of all time! Great choice!
