You kinda wonder if Dark Horse got some money from the deal. If the Alien and Predator comics weren’t making much but they kept the license for 35 years, they might have had pretty handsome contract terms like a low licensing fee or right of first refusal. A buyout (that could go to other licenses) would have been pocket change for Disney.
