This week!
Added 2020-08-10 18:03:08 +0000 UTCHey folks! We're working hard on catching back up. We lost power for a few days at home and at the office, and a few extra days at the office. No shooting took place this week, but I'm happy to say we got everything filmed ahead of time so there won't be any interruptions. Jason Inman is coming by Elseworlds this week, which should be a fun time. Back Issues is going to be that Symbiote Spider-Man comic we had early access for last time. I know Death of Superman won the twitter poll, bot that's not legally binding or anything. Honestly, we need to space these things out. Plus for the first time in a long time, we've been really leaning more on DC than Marvel, and we'd like to switch it up. Off the Rack will pick up today, so keep an eye out for that! Finally big thanks to everyone who watched the Zdarsky/Williamson episode. That's all I'll say about it.
So obviously either everyone's as done with Batman/TMNT as Tynion is, or Turtles just hurt the channel. I don't know anymore, and it's pointless to try to find out. But it doesn't bode well for more Turtles, gang. I'm sorry.
I'm working on something that I can't really talk about. What I'll say is this-- I've had theories going on almost five years that the ComicPOP channel is in some way marked or flagged by Youtube. No one on any level can confirm this, but I've talked to MCN execs, million subscriber channels and people who work directly for Youtube, and the answer is never "no." It's always, "ehhhhhhh?" They just don't know, but all agreed we should be at least double what we are now. We've grown an unbelievable community, of which you are the truest testament, and I wouldn't trade that for a million subs. We're luckier than most, in all honesty. But to satisfy a curiosity, we might try something in a coming weeks that I won't be talking about, referring to or promoting. Call it a curiosity.
So in the meantime, what're we looking at for ComicPop? We have two major creators who have asked to come on the show, which is nice. We have a massive X-Men Back Issues that has to be edited pronto. I'd like to cover at least three Spider-Man stories people have asked us to do. Doomsday Clock has come and gone, and we've never really talked about it. Elseworlds is getting a new logo. The TeePublic store is back. There's a lot going on, and we've had a lot of time thanks to current events to take stock in what we've got and where we're going.
We have the luxury of being able to take a breath and take stock in what we're doing. Find out what's working. Cut out what doesn't. Revisit stuff people liked. It's all thanks to you. Because if we do test something and it flops, Patreon lets us get a do-over. Thank you for that extra life.
Yours,
Sal
