Death of Spiderman/Death of Superman Swap The first part of the story plays out pretty much the same, all the way up to Peter Parker's death. Accept here, it all happens publically. When Peter dies in the arms of Mary Jane, and its the front page of the Daily Bugle. Then, the have the "Funeral For A Friend" arc, for Spiderman. A year of the heroes of Marvel Univerrse dealing with the death of Spiderman. And the despair of Aunt May & Mary Jane who both know the truth, which is Peter Parker is dead. A special where Aunt May finds Peter's grave destroyed & empty passes out, and while unconscience has a vision of Uncle Ben & Peter confrontation with the Spider God, telling Peter to "Evolve or Die" ... are you the man or the Spider?! Four different Spidermen emerge from the shadows. THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN: He seems like he is Spiderman. He looks identical to Peter and he's not a clone. His memory is choppy. He knows who some people are, but there's no emotional tie. But knows one thing, "With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility". (Later, revealed to be, the Chameleon who has some how gained Spiderman's powers, and he is stronger). PETER PARKER, THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN: One who is slight younger, clearly a clone. (A new clone of Ben Reilly but thinks he's Peter Parker) SPIDER-MAN: One w ho seems to be a Spiderman dressed in Black & Red who is more brutal and has no qualms about killing. (Later revealed to be Kaine) WEB OF SPIDER-MAN: One who is obviously not but is he in spirit, sporting a newli more advanced version of the Steel Spider. (Immediately revealed to be Marvel's MIles Morales. A young engineering prodigy who was once saved by Spider-man) The finale has Chameleon reveals his plan to kill everyone Peter cared for especially Mary Jane & Aunt May. Young Ben Reilly, Kaine, & Steel Spider face try to protect them. But neither of them are a match for him. And at the pivitol moment, after nearly killing Kaine and to save Mary Jane, the one true Spiderman arrives. He faces off with the Chameleon, in a spectacular battle. He reveals he got his powers by enacting same ritual Ezekial did, after he murdered him. Only he fully embraced it, giving him more abilities like shapeshifting. But Peter learned something in that etherial adventure with Uncle Ben. The Spider-God was angry one of her avatars was killed, and through Peter she gets revenge, stripping the Chameleon of his powers.
