Big weekly update!
Added 2021-03-27 15:57:28 +0000 UTCOK so I think I've mentioned in the past that Ethan's work schedule is pretty hectic. As such, we've usually had to film all our shows for the past few years on a random weekday like Tuesday or Thursday. Over the past year or two, we've had rotating hours within the day due to that schedule. Sometimes he works nights. Other times he works days. Sometimes mornings. So we can coordinate what we're filming with how long we'll have Ethan with us at least a week in advance.
These last two weeks he was available in the morning, so 9 AM the whole crew meets up and starts shooting until he's gotta leave before 1 PM. It's funny because the last two episodes of Back Issues we've shot were unexpectedly long episodes (Superman Blue was one). I didn't expect that to run as long as it did, and this latest one was the exact same. And we had GBU episodes to film both weeks, so time was a factor.
Somehow, not only did we film those, both weeks we fit our GBU episodes into filming before Ethan had to run. Which is fantastic, as I have three (THREE) episodes of GBU to cut and release over the next month. I've just been trying to keep ahead of the Back Issues schedule, which is why I'm so behind on GBU. I do have a little bit of a break, plus the bonus Back Issues we shot after Ethan left was about an hour long in total, which means it'll probably only end up about 45 minutes. What that means for you guys is it gives me a few extra hours to cut.
Normally GBU would probably have been done by now, but 2/3rds of the episodes are multi-cam! I'm thrilled. It's basically extra work for me TBH, as most of the audience doesn't seem to care. But I do, dammit! And I love how it looks. And now that I have a better handle on multi-cam editing, it shouldn't take as long as it used to when I tried the 3-camera setup.
ANYWAY, we're less than seven thousand subs away from 100k. Honestly, it's such an arbitrary number that it really doesn't matter. But here's the thing-- it matters in really weird ways. We could get verified, we could grow faster as result, we could get higher search priority, better quality ads... It's insane.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you for everything and supporting us! Sorry for the lack of updates lately, it's been stupid and busy. Talk soon!

2021-03-29 15:48:40 +0000 UTCReal talk, Comic Pop is legitimately one of the best shot channels that isn't operating with a huge budget and a staff. Which makes sense, given Sal's background in film. Either way, I definitely appreciate that polish. It also helps when I am showing it off to friends, because that professional appearance helps new viewers.

2021-03-29 08:01:11 +0000 UTCBy and large it just doesn't come up in the comments. But we've seen some solid response to today's episode (and yours, thanks!). Plus I just plain like how it looks.

2021-03-27 16:19:08 +0000 UTCThank you all so much for working crazy hours. Unpredictable schedules are difficult to deal with. Especially not knowing what you are doing two weeks from now. This really shows how awesome you all are.
