Big News, New Channel
Added 2021-05-03 21:19:25 +0000 UTCWant to give you a quick update on the new big changes/shake-ups going on at ComicPop.
We're doing a big push to 100k, which has been clear since... idk, when we started? But since the end-goal is in sight, we also wanted to put together some more goals for the future.
Honestly, it's not enough to hit 100k. It's not like we'll shut the channel down after that, or we win a big cash prize for hitting the milestone. I'm still convinced, no joke, that by the time we hit it YT will stop giving out those big buttons. But it's utterly meaningless without also having genuine growth. What I mean is, it's not enough to have like this arbitrary number. It's about growing ComicPop to reach more of you guys-- the special awesome ones who don't just enjoy the channel, you GET it. You get us, you dig our stuff, and you want more. That's what my endgame is. Because you've convinced me that you're out there, and all we need to do is hit the right thing at the right time. But as you've probably heard me whine about, YT is obviously not interested in helping us achieve those goals.
So where does that leave us?
Over the next week, you'll continue to see three shows come from ComicPop: live streaming Off the Rack and Elseworlds Exchange, along with the usual uploads of Back Issues on Wednesdays. What subscribers won't see are the new episodes of Off the Rack and Elseworlds Exchange after they're live. I mean... YOU will, because they'll be posted here and we don't want you missing any of it. But after the show's live? It doesn't go public.
Instead, the finished broadcasts will be moved to a new channel.
That's right. We're doing it. We're biting the bullet and following the trend. Say hello to:
It's like a play on The Dark Knight Returns?
Anyway...
The idea is: this is where everything that isn't Back Issues will go. Off the Rack, Elseworlds Exchange, Letters Page and especially GBU. All four of those shows will live there until YT gets its act together and decides, inevitably, that diverse content is great. In the meantime, we're going to use this new channel try to appeal to the whole audience. We want the people who love this channel and everything we make to have a place to go to get their stuff without any algorithm bullshit.
And for those people who just want to watch Back Issues? We've got that covered. And inevitably when ComicPop Returns gets enough traction, Off the Rack and EE will be live over there, too. And no, we're not deleting or unlisting the old shows and reuploading them to the new channel. Returns will have only new episodes of the four shows you love, and you can watch any/all old stuff on ComicPop whenever you want in their playlists.
Look, I know how dumb it sounds to have two entirely different channels for all the content we make. And I've resisted it for as long as I could. But in addition to doing this because I love it, it's also my job. And I need to make smart financial decisions, despite how objectively stupid they may seem. If YT said I needed to put the word cheeseburger in the descriptions of all our videos to guarantee monetization, it'd be fucking Burger King up in all our videos. Just think of it like that.
And best of all (you amazing, wonderful Patrons): aside from subscribing, you won't have to do a damn thing. I'm going to post every single new video that comes out on here, every single time. So besides the one time I ask you to go over there and subscribe, all you'll really have to do is stay here and you'll get a notification of what new video comes out, regardless of the channel it's on.
So that's the skinny, folks. To sum up: ComicPop is gonna be the all-Back Issues channel, and ComicPop Returns is where you'll get new episodes of Off the Rack, Elseworlds Exchange, GBU, and Letters Page. For now, of course. Honestly, we have no idea how this is going to affect the algorithm. It could be Returns gives us new life, and we could bring back old shows or create brand new ones! It's anyone's guess, because literally nobody knows!
All that aside, we just want to say thank you for sticking with us, being so understanding, and being so willing to go that extra mile. I hope you understand why we're doing this, and know it's entirely because we want to keep making the shows you love without taking anything away from any other show. This is the best way, for now, that we can keep ComicPop as pure and true as we're capable. So thank you for your undying support, thank you for your patience and understanding, and we'll see you tomorrow!

2021-05-03 21:30:34 +0000 UTCThe algorithm can't be beat, its better to play it to your advantage. The people from ComicPop will always support wherever your content is because that's what were here for, not the specific channel!
