This week at ComicPOP!

Hey everybody! Sorry for missing you last week. Things were insane over here and it completley monopolized my time, and I'm truly sorry about that.

We had to skip shooting Comic Line last week unfortunately, and that means our Lego Build episode with Tiff and Ethan went live today. We really hope you like it, I was going for something more "YouTube" in editing. Oh, also you got to see the new set! Right now it's a simple blue wall with a high-top table, but it's still really sleek and I'm proud of it. If you follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/comicpopofficial), you've already seen pics of the wall pre-paint and post-paint, when I was painting it. Riveting stuff.

This week's Back Issues is already on Patreon for some of you, but just in case you didn't check, it's I Am Suicide. Yep, we're doing more Tom King Batman. WOJAR is next, which... you know.

Elseworlds will have special guest Jason Inman on, where we're just gonna get real down and nerdy with ya. Gonna be hot. And by hot, I mean not hot at all, but still entertaining.

I really want to do some major clean-ups on ComicPOP for you (and everyone, honestly). Cleaner, more unified thumbnails, sure, but also just a steady stream of the best possible videos we can make. Somebody posted a picture of Wizard on the Facebook group and asked if anybody missed them. I know I sure did. But the sad reality is, I stopped reading Wizard well before they closed in 2011. It went from being my inside track into the industry and practically a companion in a world that didn't care about something I was passionate about, to a cheaply printed movie blog. The wit, the charm, the boundary-pushing humor, the sheer weight and print quality, diminished. And to top it all off, they split themselves three ways and released other magazines instead of covering any particular thing in their central publication. Basically, they lost their way. And then it was obvious they should have gone digital and they didn't, and it was Blockbuster all over again.

I'd like to think we're the answer to the void Wizard left. I figured when the studio came into focus, we could finally start living up to that aspiration. And I'm told by people on a pretty regular basis the same kinds of things I've heard folks express about their long lost comics mag. So maybe we're heading in that direction, but I still don't feel it yet. I think we're close, but I'd like to get your input and insight. What's missing?

Oh yeah, and Thorgi's coming to the studio on Thursday so we're gonna shoot a Good, Bad and Ugly with him. So that's gonna be fun!

Thank you all for helping us get here, and keep the lights on. I say that, but it's literally true.

Talk soon!

Sal
