This week's update!

What is happening, good people! So you may have noticed that we had to swap out Batman with Star Wars for Back Issues last week, which was apparently not nearly as important as all that if the box office is any indication... That said, now the Batman episode we've been meaning to do for... YEARS is finally ready to go. Some of you may have caught it before I switched them, but here it is. And more of you may have also noticed that we tossed a little bonus video up from another upcoming Back Issues. Expect another one soon!

So here's the rundown for this week! Elseworlds, Back Issues is Batman: The Cult, Letters Page, and I think that's it for this week.

Here's the thing. I went through the channel the other day and I've been feeling really frustrated with how it's presented and how we're carried. I made up a list of things I was thoroughly dissatisfied with, ran through them with Tiffany, and came to a few conclusions.

Basically, we lack consistency. If you look at the channel from an outsider or a newb's POV, what can you tell us about the channel? You might glean that it's comic book related, but you don't get what about comics it is. What's the mission-statement? A year back we asked the audience to describe ComicPOP for new viewers, and everybody had some kind of problem articulating exactly what we are, what we do, or why it's appealing.

Don't worry. Everything's staying. No changes for you, or the regular viewer. At least not on the inside in ways you'd notice. It's more of a best-foot-forward situation, here. More consistency. We're going to clean up that main banner, get some text on there that highlights what, where and when. What's coming, where to find it, and when you can expect it.

We're going to focus the shows. If you're a casual, you might think we don't have regularly scheduled shows, but more just release random stuff whenever we feel like it. That should never be. That's a two-fold problem. The first of which is focusing more attention on those top shows of ours, and refocusing efforts for the shows that work, but not as consistently. For instance...

These are the main shows of ComicPOP now: Back Issues, Elseworlds Exchange, Good Bad and Ugly, and Letters Page. The shows will come out Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. GBU, Back Issues, and Elseworlds. You'll still find EE live Wednesday, but released officially on Thursday. And then "Fan Fridays," which will be where Letters Page fits in.

Some of you might be wondering about Off the Rack. The fact is, we're working on retooling that show to make it the best possible thing it can be. You can expect occasional OTR episodes for tentpole books and movies. But on a more consistent basis, it's going to get retooled. Announcement to follow.

The second part of that problem I mentioned is the look. We need to make those thumbnails more consistent. You've probably seen me trying different things and it just ain't working. So those main shows I'm talking about? They're getting a facelift. New thumbnails to match the new aesthetic for the channel. We want to convey a legit operation that cares about presentation and high quality content. So hopefully the new changes will reflect that.

Hope you like what's coming. Still working on new show ideas. The news show thing needs a better name, and I think it might be a twice monthly type show. It didn't hit the way I hoped, but people still really enjoyed it. So there's something to that. But there just isn't enough content to support it on a weekly basis, so we'll see next week how it goes.

Anyway, that's a lot to dump on you so I appreciate your patience. And thanks for allowing us to do these things. Because of you, we can take time and do things right.

Thanks so much, and talk soon!

Sal
