This week's update
Added 2018-07-09 15:49:35 +0000 UTCHey everybody! Let's go over all the ComicPOP news that's fit to print!
You may have noticed that we just released our comic line episode about pull lists. This is actually derived from a larger conversation about the Walmart DC Comics books, but I'm not sure if we're even going to release it. If we do, you'll see it probably next week. If we don't, you'll see it as an audio file here on Patreon.
Tomorrow we'll release the author Rock episode that we shot last night. It covers our opinions about Batman 50 and a lot more. I'm really happy with it, and I hope you will be.
You may have noticed that we had to take a break from elseworlds last week. This is because it was the 4th of July on that day, and I just had too much to do personally. Sorry for the skipped week, but we will be back and better than ever.
This week's back issues is the last episode with the old audio. We had actually switched to the new audio on The Good The Bad and The Ugly, but nobody seemed to notice. So really, there will be no significant change between this week's back issues (which is of course available for $20 patreons right now) and next week's back issues. This week's, if you haven't seen it already, is the Epic 90s crossover event Ghost Rider Punisher Wolverine hearts of Darkness. It is written by Howard Mackie, so you know it's going to be ridiculous. The following week will be the return of Ultimate Spider-Man!
I've been puttering around the office trying to make it as practical and fun as possible. If you aren't following our Instagram over at instagram.com/comicpopofficial, you're missing out on some fun behind the scenes videos. However, I will always post more fun pictures on the Patreon here. The only reason it's not too regularly is because I forget to snap a picture.
We just visited the gardenstate comicfest this past weekend and we had a pretty okay time. The best part of course was meeting people who were fans of the channel, and I got a pretty sweet commission done. We had a panel, but I'm sure we'll never release anything from it.
if you do want to see us live, what you really need to do is come to the Keystone Comic Con in Philadelphia on September 15th. The entire crew will be there, and it promises to be a really fun time. We're also going to have posters and other stuff. It's going to be great and we hope to see you there. At least check out the website and see all of us on it! http://keystonecomiccon.com
Also, I think I mentioned this to the previous week's update but our twitch reached affiliate status so we can finally have subscribers. I'm really happy with that, and I just wanted to remind you about that so if you like live streaming and you like us and you like gaming you're going to enjoy this channel. https://www.twitch.tv/comicpoptv
Thank you all so much for all your help. I was recently applying for preferred flyer status with the government so that I wouldn't have to wait in ridiculous lines for security anymore, and they required employment information. Recent employment was easy, but I had to go back to 2013 and it meant I had to revisit the time when I last worked for a school which was not ideal. I had to find some specific information about it, and in order to do that I had to go through old emails and I found hundreds of emails to prospective employers and school districts practically begging for work. I was immediately transported back to that time, and it was overwhelming. The anxiety I felt over not having a job, or looking for a job, or having a job that I hated, was suffocating and it took a quick trip to Twitter to remind myself that I have the best job in the world and I'm so thankful for it. Without this patreon and the YouTube channel, I would be right back to that person I was and I do not envy him at all. If I do in any way, it is because I envy the relief he is about to feel from having made the plunge.
Your's always,
Sal
