AAG - Chapter 53!
Added 2024-08-05 03:00:32 +0000 UTCLots of world building and set ups for future chapters in this one, but as I really enjoy reading chapters like that in my own reading, I hope you do too.
Thank you so much for supporting my writing! :-) As always, let's discuss in the comments.

Well Gothic already has Galactic Maps he got in the 'Flight of the Navigator' universe. Once of which was a 100% map of the Milky Way. He will have to verify that the maps match up with one another and that should be relatively easy. Cross deck the map to the one the Federation has, then pick a list but unmapped system, travel to it and see if the FotN map is accurate to what is there.

2024-08-27 22:23:47 +0000 UTCI could see that happening. Gothic is really taking the hardware and software he's found and has had a lot of luck and hard work poured into them to make all the disparate race's systems work together. The sum total being better than the parts alone so to speak, but Gothic will need researchers eventually to take it all to the next evolution.

2024-08-27 22:19:18 +0000 UTCOne thing I would really like to see is Data's hearing... with Gothic beaming in and handing him a padd granting him Bajoran citizenship... he's the third officer of the flagship... as soon as he signed up for star fleet he should have been given citizenship. Lots of room for Gothic to make the Federation look like idiots. Also any chance of a Shaks cameo from Lower decks? that could be fun... Plus Gothic visited the Magic Mushroom Verse... DOT droids are just cool... and or an army of TOK700's mixed with X23's or better yet TX's powered by red matter.

2024-08-25 21:18:03 +0000 UTCPretty great couple of chapters... now that Gothic has access to positronic computers will FT get a bit of a refit, as these would be faster than a traditional computer. Especially if ran along side the EPS grid... essentially turning the whole ship into a computer core. Would this also mean being able to use the quantum slipstream drive on a smaller ship/shuttle? and allow Gothic to map the Gamma and Delta quadrants?

2024-08-25 21:06:44 +0000 UTCNew Sub. but I just thought of a really good line for a pair of Holonovels that would do awesome in the Klingon Empire. "Conan The Barbarian" and "Red Sonja", both cool 80's flicks very adaptable to holonovels. ETA: I wonder how "Mad Max" and "The Road Warrior" would be received as well?

2024-08-17 14:17:11 +0000 UTCI agree with you, but the Federation do not have their priorities straight. They try to appease everyone, even when that appeasement weakens them in the eyes of other races.

2024-08-10 22:12:24 +0000 UTCGothic doesn't hire people often. He has a deep seated mistrust and fear of betrayal. An employee is going to be much more capable of learning things that could get him into trouble and then betraying him. With his AI help and all the advanced automation he's built, he really doesn't need many people. As everyone has noticed, he's mostly hiring people he has the chance of romantically linking to long-term. She could certainly sleep with the EMH docs. It'll be interesting to see if she shares Gothic's current reticence to sleeping with holograms. Thank for your review and for supporting my writing!

2024-08-10 22:10:25 +0000 UTCGlad you liked the chapter! Some public recognition for Gothic has been a long time coming and will make many of his activities easier. Lauren, yeah, we'll see how things develop there. Gothic may not realize how much he needs to watch Lauren and keep her occupied. Gothic has no issue in being a full time dom, but we'll see how she handles her new sexuality that has only been released. It might be pretty over the top for a while. Thank you so much for supporting my writing! :-)

2024-08-07 13:44:43 +0000 UTCPatriot Games is a great movie but I was quoting the book which I liked more. I figured it was a no on GODS for Bajor. That can leave Gothic open to criticism though. The senior officer sworn to protect Bajor gives the mighty and rich Federation a powerful defensive system but poor Bajor has only 12 long in the tooth fighters, an old Cardassian mining station and three runabouts. And maybe the Temptress.

2024-08-06 21:01:29 +0000 UTCTrue. I have to wonder if by this point Pressman is starting to really annoy people in Starfleet Intelligence as due to his rank he is probably one of the loudest voices against Gothic Depending on if the Dominion War still happens at roughly the same time then if Gothic can actually get all the Planet's or enough of them on the list and a few others covered the Dominion may have a bigger fight on their hands. There may be a few people but I really doubt their will be any major calls to downside Starfleet as not only was a massive fleet made it into the sol system Starfleet would likey just return to focusing more on exploration I have to wonder if after Gothic gets back to to Bajor if the government may not want Gothic leaving for the System for awhile. Gothic really good PR for Bajor . Will Gothic vist Darwin Station before he goes back to Bajor I'm also curious to see how any future S31 missions may go for Gothic I am concerned as the opinion of Augments in the Federation improves, if among the other powers will look into their own Augments as Gothic has shown that Augments are not all power hungry and can be very well adjusted even some among the Klingons may be looking into it and Romulans certainly will.

2024-08-06 19:02:04 +0000 UTCReally enjoyed the chapter! Nice to see the Hero get several rewards! Also glad to see some of the Institute Augments getting some more humane treatment. I think that Lauren will probably flit around so many of the jobs initially until she finds some sort of balance that works for her. That will be interesting to write I am sure as she will probably be like a hyperactive beagle until Gothic yanks on her leash... and he gave her 50 Shades of Gre-at googly moogly! She is going to expect Gothic to Top at all times... well if anyone can, it'd be him! My mind is running on many tangents and I should get back to work now! Thanks again for the story and I am looking forward to the next chapter!

2024-08-06 17:09:45 +0000 UTCThe problem is that Gothic believes in a lot of automation and has the AI help to make that a reality. He really doesn't hire anybody because of the security concerns and he really doesn't need them. In the future, though, he might come under pressure to hire more local talent.

2024-08-06 16:52:11 +0000 UTCYou're right. Picard accidentally got Gothic to reveal quite a lot, but I feel like Gothic knew what he was doing and only released what he wanted to, stuff that wouldn't hurt him too much, or things that the Starfleet repair teams might have seen anyway.. He knew anything he said to Picard could end up in a report later, so he was very careful in what he said. And in terms of Section 31 learning about it, they'd probably wholeheartedly agree with the security precautions Gothic took because it was exactly what they'd do. Yeah, Picard has had a long career. Imagine all those episodes of TNG, where he had some major victory and then give him an appropriate medal or award for it. IT'd be a lot. Pressman, thankfully, is being marginalized by Section 31. Though this also, on some level, helps fuel his paranoia with regard to Gothic. So, bit of a double edged sword there. I'm hoping so. Those admirals were listening to Gothic and he knew it. IF one of them comes away with a more realistic view of war, then maybe the Dominion War won't be as much of a shit show as it was. The magic touch, lol. Yes, his girls will happily conduct some "experiments" with him. And I think they could emit a stun effect. In fact, when writing that scene I saw Gothic giving a handshake that resulted in the person being stunned. Right? Annika is seemingly as smart and beautiful as 7, arguably, which shouldn't be the case. Something is up there. Yep, two new recruits who have a lot of options to serve with Gothic. We'll see what develops there. Gothic's very publicly given award will go a long way to changing hearts and minds. I hope so. Though there is a possibility it could go the other way. With all of these defensive platforms, maybe the idiots will decide or conclude that they don't need a fleet the size that Starfleet fields. That would be a disaster. Thank you for the comment/review and all your support! :-)

2024-08-06 16:50:37 +0000 UTCGlad you liked the award ceremony. It was originally meant to highlight that Earth and the Federation recognized the great service Gothic did for them, which would result in some goodwill and better treatment long-term. As the scene evolved, the Picard conversation became more and more interesting as I made some tie ins back to previous chapters. Patriot Games is a great, great movie. Maybe even if the best Jack Ryan film. I wanted to bring Lauren in now. Since she's mostly a blank slate, I'm worried I might not do her justice, but hopefully her character will develop and evolve naturally into something great. For various reasons, I'm leaning towards no. There are events that Gothic wants replicated. If Bajor was too powerful, the Dominion might view them as a threat, rather than someone they can sign a non-agression pact with. Plus having all that hardware present would give the Dominion time to study it. Thanks for the comment/review! And thank you for your support!

2024-08-06 16:40:48 +0000 UTCHe is on the ship at the moment, acclimating to things. Keep in mind, he's also a complete unknown in this dimension. Even Gothic is going to need some time to create and build a false identity as he needs to hide the fact that he went on a trip through dimensions on his way from Bajor to Earth.

2024-08-06 16:35:48 +0000 UTCI wonder if after thsi more people may start applying to work one of Gothic's companies

2024-08-06 16:00:32 +0000 UTCConsidering how the Federation/Starfleet just had their teeth kicked in only to be saved in the last second in front of both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, atleast for awhile when it comes to planetary defense systems the Federation isn't going to give a damn about the Cardassians concerns.

2024-08-06 15:26:12 +0000 UTCGreat chapter. Picard has inadvertently gotten Starfleet more intel about Gothic in a then all of Starfleet Intelligence lol. And damn Picard got some bling. And fuck you Pressman. Damn that's alot of Admirals.l, though it seems Gothic has made alot of good impressions. Not sure about Picard saluting the presidential as that doesn't really line up with Starfleet at this point. Damn Gothic being inventive in unexpected ways lol he got the magic touch now and i bet both Jadzia and T'Maz would be happy to assist Gothic in further development for science of course, though I wonder if the nanites could also create a stun effect. That is something interesting to consider about Annika. So Gothix got his two new recruits I like how the opinion of Augments has slowly changed due to Gothic efforts. Considering there is still years till the Dominion War tge Federation will likey be a better place with the GODS network

2024-08-06 14:07:01 +0000 UTCNice very nice. I just loved the new chapter. I liked the award ceremony. I also liked the talk with Picard. It remined me of a scene in the book Patriot Games. Where an old British soldier tell Jack Ryan that you can try to act as a soldier or you can try to act as a policeman but you can not act as both. I like that Gothic's actions have brought positive attention to augments. I wasn't expecting Lauren to join until later in the story. Will Bajor get any GODS platforms? Because if they don't any political enemies Gothic may have could use that against him.

2024-08-06 06:44:59 +0000 UTCJust one question, where is Dr. Lanning? From I,Robot. He came along didn’t he?
Sammy the Shark
2024-08-06 04:53:37 +0000 UTCAlso, I think the first people lauren will sleep with on the ship should be the emh doctors. Sleeping with the EMH is a new experience involving holograms plus she gets to analyze how gothic programmed them.
andrew regalado
2024-08-05 22:17:42 +0000 UTCOne job I think lauren could do, based on her analysis skills, is to help gothic hire more crew who have a moral flexibility. How about that flight exam observer that gothic slept with after passing the piloting exam back in the early chapters?

2024-08-05 22:08:05 +0000 UTCThe Collectors have NOT carried out their invasion in the traditional way. They're not targeting any one race, in fact they're quite unpredictable in the way they're picking their targets. The reason for that is because, 1, they're alien fucks who don't think the way we do, and 2. their purpose at the moment is not to gain territory or weaken a specific enemy, but to gauge resistance, see how well their forces do against the races of the alpha quadrant and most importantly, to gather technology to reverse engineer. With the knowledge and technology in hand, they can then tailor their war to these new enemies. So, while the Cardassians got hit hard at the beginning, they're not being targeted specifically. The Cardassians still have the bandwidth to worry about what their old enemies are doing, especially as Collector attacks will dry up practically overnight going forward with the destruction of the worldship.
Joseph Orlando
2024-08-05 18:00:55 +0000 UTCI have to disagree on the Cardassians Joe even if the Federation worlds across it's border buy Gothics Defense Net the Cardassians are likely too busy fending off the Collectors like everyone else

Joseph Orlando
2024-08-05 16:36:14 +0000 UTCSome of that was Q's doing, his attempt at spreading more chaos. Now that Gothic is back in his home dimension, with all the war coming in the future, he's going to be far more careful about getting anyone pregnant as he knows that child is going to be used against him.
Joseph Orlando
2024-08-05 16:35:42 +0000 UTCYes, each planet that receives this system is going to grant Starfleet a much more generous response time. Of course those worlds will be under siege, in essence, with no traffic to or from the system, but any attacker is either going to leave before Starfleet forces arrive to help defend the system, or they're going to go after a softer target and skip any worlds with heavy defenses. The worlds on the Cardassian border are going to be tricky. The Cardassians could easily claim this is a military buildup, they're being provoked, but the truth is these are defensive installations. They can't be used to wage war against Cardassia. So that's a hard argument to make with a straight face. I will fix that, thank you! Thanks for the comment/review! :-)

2024-08-05 16:33:17 +0000 UTCVery nice chapter and was about 1/3 larger then normal I think. Gothics GODS are going to make the Federation a harder nut to crack, I have to imagine a lot of the planets on Sloan’s list were close to the Cardassian boarder. While also freeing up a lot of otherwise tied down fleet assets across the Federation. The Federation increased the effective size of their mobile combat forces without building a single new ship. Perhaps Gothic should offer the Cardassian boarder worlds a free 5 year trial of the super heavy duty orbital defense system for the low low cost of the standard GOD package. First typo in a few chapters that I found… I think. Page 25 “Congratulations, Admiral,” the Admiral quietly offered. I reread the part with Picard and did not notice anyone assisting with the presentation like often happens. So I am pretty sure that should have been ‘the President’ As always looking forward to the next chapter!
