Launched on Liberapay - a Patreon alternative!
Added 2019-02-04 22:40:23 +0000 UTCI've decided to finally launch an alternative to Patreon - enter Liberapay.
It's a non-profit, open-source based recurring donation platform.
You have requested it, and I decided to finally do it.
So in case you wanted to support me, but Patreon is not your pair of headphones - Liberapay should now have you covered!
How is Liberapay different from Patreon?
- Liberapay doesn't take a cut from your donations (only payment processors do) - this makes it more efficient than Patreon,
- Liberapay lets you donate anonymously (unlike Patreon, where you have to reveal your identity to me),
- Liberapay has no blog like Patreon does (yet?),
- Liberapay doesn't facilitate tiers and forbids rewards,
- Liberapay is built on free and open-source software, unlike Patreon,
- Liberapay displays total income in a weekly cycle (unlike Patreon's monthly one), but you can make donation recur weekly, monthly or yearly),
- Liberapay allows you to make very small recurring donations (Patreon's minimum is $1/mo),
- Liberapay is run by a non-profit organization (as opposed to a for-profit Patreon).
