Fluid physics using particle emitters are a pain in the butt to get right. There is like 15 settings to change to see how the fluid reacts. Sometimes it gushes out like a fire hydrant, sometimes they just disappear at the wrong time, sometimes nothing happens. Really difficult to see how it works in real time because frame rate is like 3-5fps because it is CPU intensive to simulate fluids. I have a i9 9900k, but maybe I will upgrade in near future. Didn't take much footage of my adventurers since it was already laggy. I could “bake” the physics, meaning it does all the calculations before I play the animation to see it. But that usually takes like 5-10 minutes per bake. And naturally if I change any of the 15 settings, I have to rebake again.
It is easy to get fluids started, but extremely annoying to get it to look right. The worse thing is if I get the consistency, viscosity and behavior right in one project. It would behave differently even if I use the same setting X_X. Spent over a week just tinkering with only fluids for my Mai and Kasumi animation. Hope my fluids will improve with a fresh project.
