The p5.js Design Tools Directory 🔥

Hi Creative Coders, ✌️

I hope you are doing great! Last week I did not manage to finish this post, but now I can finally share it with you, that's why I am reaching out a bit later.

While preparing the new course on tool-development in p5.js, I needed more inspiration, and so I've asked you a few weeks ago for your favorite tool examples. Your responses were amazing and so helpful and I want to thank all of you for commenting and contributing, on Instagram, by e-mail and on Patreon!

Here we go, here's the final directory of tools.

Some thoughts: I realized that I need a clear definition of the word "tool" in this context, because basically a "tool" can be ... anything! So I narrowed it down:

By ‘tool’ in this context, I mean a p5.js sketch that can be modified and controlled via a simple user interface consisting of HTML input elements. That way, the design system can be shared and used by non-coders.

I want to send a loud shoutout to Lena Weber, who helped me developing the directory.

That's it for now,

Warm greetings to y'all! ☀️

Tim

Amazing!!!! Exactly what I was looking for in the last weeks! :-)

Nico I The Exhausted

Hi Robert! Exporting to one of these file formats is something that p5.js generally is capable of, it actually does not have anything to do with the user interface of the tool. So yes, there are quite a few examples where you can save to jpg or png in this list. I am not sure specifically about pdf and svg though…
