Daring Kai - Part 34

‘New and improved dare game version 2.0’. That was how Miles had described the game.

‘Crappy bag full of annoying stuff’. That was how Caleb had described it.

Whichever way they looked at it, the newly-refilled dare bag was already proving to be entertaining. After the lap-dance dare Caleb and Luca had endured, much to the enjoyment of Kai and Leo, they had moved onto Miles’s turn. The piece of paper he pulled out stated, ‘Get blindfolded and lick a body part of one of the other players. If you guess who it is, the dare ends. Guess wrong and lick another one!’

Suddenly, Caleb was a lot less unhappy with the game, enjoying the disgusted look on Miles’s face as he prepared for the dare. They had started simple, offering up Luca’s forearm, which Miles had licked and guessed was Kai. They had very quickly realised the opportunity they had to be horrible and next Miles was given the sole of Caleb’s foot to lick. He had gagged and then eventually guessed Leo. After that, he had licked Kai’s butt cheek, Caleb’s shin and finally Luca’s cheek, guessing wrong every time. It had only been when he was forced to lick an armpit that he nearly threw up but correctly guessed Leo that the dare ended.

“Recognised the body spray!” Miles said cockily, after brushing his teeth several times and getting through most of a bottle of mouthwash.

One coin flip later, and Luca had looked mortified to learn he was doing the same dare rather than Kai. Fortunately for him, on his first lick – Kai’s thigh – he had guessed correctly and completed the dare, much to everyone else’s disappointment.

“Are we going again?” Leo asked eagerly once things had calmed down from Miles and Luca’s dare.

“Let’s do something else,” Miles suggested, getting casual agreements from Luca and Caleb.

Both Robinson twins looked disappointed but didn’t voice their objections as the group moved on to other ways to spend their evening. They ended up splitting into a duo and a trio, with Caleb and Leo over on one bed watching (and arguing about) football videos, while Miles and Kai were laid on Kai’s bed, looking down over Luca’s shoulders as he showed them his DeviantArt page (at Kai’s insistence).

“Fuck, you’re so good!” Miles exclaimed, leaning down to touch the screen and zoom in on the latest image. “I’m good at most subjects, but art is NOT one of them!” he sniggered.

“It’s true. I think it’s a genetic thing,” Kai agreed, “We played Pictionary with him and his parents last Christmas and I swear, they were so far beyond shit I thought they were faking it!”

“Oh come on,” Miles scoffed, “That bird I drew wasn’t THAT bad!”

“It looked like a cow!” Kai argued back. As he saw Luca grinning at him, he nodded and said, “Seriously, there were udders!”

“THOSE WERE FEATHERS!” Miles yelled angrily.

“Are you talking about cowbird?” Caleb called out.

“IT WAS JUST A BIRD!” Miles snapped, triggering laughs all round before he marched across the room to start arguing with Caleb.

“Hey,” Kai whispered, leaning his head to the side slightly to touch against Luca’s. “You having fun?” he asked quietly.

Luca nodded emphatically, grinning. “Yeah, this is great. Thanks for letting me stay. Maybe I could come over next time you do something like this too!” he said hopefully.

“Something… like this?” Kai chuckled, rolling into his back so he was looking at his new boyfriend upside-down for no real reason. “This is just… a normal night!” he stated casually.

“What!?” Luca exclaimed, his eyes wide with obvious shock.

“Yeah, we… we pretty much all hang out every night. And we sleep over most nights too. I mean, not always in one room, sometimes it’s a couple in here and a couple in Leo’s room, sometimes Miles’s place… very rarely Caleb’s!” Kai explained.

“This is… but… you…” Luca stuttered, utterly bewildered.

“Aww, is this really your first sleepover?” Kai asked, discretely slipping a hand onto the back of Luca’s head to stroke him comfortingly.

“You serious?” Luca scoffed. “Never mind first sleepover, you’re my first… friend!” he said meekly.

Kai stared at the other boy blankly for a few moments, barely able to even comprehend the statement. “How?” he finally managed to say in absolute shock.

“Well, it’s like I said,” Luca explained quietly, “I never tried to hang out with anyone once I realised it’d make ‘em a target!”

“And before that?” Kai asked curiously.

Luca shrugged and said, “I was too scared to try being friends with anyone cos I didn’t want them to find out I was gay! Wasn’t that something you were ever scared about?”

Kai sat up, span around and slipped off the bed to sit on the floor beside Luca as he said, “Yeah, I guess so. I just…” He paused to look over at the other bed, where Miles had been grabbed by the other two who were now sitting on top of him as they continued watching football videos. He smirked a little and said, “I always had those guys. I kinda forget how lucky I am!”

“You really are,” Luca agreed, then let his head tilt to the side to rest on Kai’s shoulder for a moment as he added, “And so are they!”

“You’re too cute,” Kai whispered, letting his own head rest briefly against Luca’s.

“Wait, so let me get this straight!” Caleb said with a smirk.

“Hey, that phrase is offensive to Luca and his people!” Miles quickly interjected. There was a momentary hush, but as soon as Luca started laughing, so did the others.

“Very funny,” Caleb said, rolling his eyes despite the fact he had laughed a little too. “We’re taking a break from doing the dares,” he said as he gestured over to the dare bag on the desk, “To do something different, and the ‘massively different’ thing we’re doing is… truth or dare!? Seriously!”

“Well I figure it’s time we gave it another go!” Kai explained. “I don’t know if you remember, but it was my suggestion we play truth or dare that started all of this!”

“Oh yeah, everything that’s happened really is YOUR fault,” Miles said with a knowing nod.

“Not where I was going with it,” Kai scoffed, rolling his eyes, “I was just thinking that you guys didn’t want to play because you said nobody ever takes dares or does them anyway. After the stuff we’ve done the past couple of months, I figured… that might have changed!”

While Kai got general nods of agreement from the others, he smirked a little to himself for seemingly managing to convince them. In reality, his plan had two ulterior motives. The first was simply to get Luca more familiar with the group and vice versa, as he was hopefully going to be around a lot more. But secondly, he had formed a cunning plan involving Luca that even he wasn’t aware of yet.

“Fine, but… nothing that involves leaving the room!” Leo insisted.

“And nothing on social media either!” Caleb added.

“Any other demands?” Kai asked flippantly.

“A girlfriend would be nice!” Miles said with a broad grin.

“Aww, mate,” Caleb said, shaking his head as he reached out to pat Miles on the back, “It’s truth or dare, not truth or absolute fucking miracle!”

“Heyyyy!” Miles whined as everyone else laughed at the burn.

“What? Nearly sixteen years and no luck yet, that’s hardly the best track record!” Caleb smirked.

“If it makes you feel any better, I’ve never had a girlfriend either!” Luca said, straight-faced.

Miles poked his tongue out at Caleb and said, “Ha. See!” He suddenly caught on to the joke as Luca and the others started laughing again and said grumpily, “So funny!”

“That actually was funny!” Caleb said, offering a fist-bump to Luca who looked immensely proud of himself.

“Well for that, you can go first!” Miles insisted. “Truth or dare?” he asked.

Luca shrugged and said, “Well I’ve technically done two dares tonight already, so… truth!”

“Who do you think is the hottest guy in our year?” Leo quickly blurted out.

Luca looked momentarily panicked as his eyes briefly darted to Kai.

“Not counting us four,” Miles quickly added, “Cos obviously we’re the top four… five if you include yourself, and we don’t need any fights over who’s second hottest after me!”

“Ha, you wish!” Caleb scoffed.

“No, he’s right,” Luca said, shooting a playful wink to Miles just for fun. “Hmm, okay, well… probably… Zack Smith. He’s hot!” He blushed, visibly not used to saying such things openly.

“Oooh, good call!” “Seriously? Zack?” “He has nice elbows!” “I’ve seen better!” the others all chorused.

Luca chuckled and asked, “So who’s next?”

“I’ll go,” Kai volunteered, “And I’ll take…”

“Lemme guess,” Leo said flippantly, “A dare?”

“No!” Kai said petulantly, mostly annoyed because he had been just about to ask for a dare. If only to prove Leo wrong, he said, “I’ll take a truth as well!”

As the other three sat looking thoughtful, Luca smiled and asked, “What dare turned you on the most?”

“Ooooh!” the other three chorused, clearly happy with the question as they stared intently at Kai.

“Hmm,” Kai hummed thoughtfully. He smirked as he asked, “Wait, what was my fourth dare and what date did it happen?”

“It was Tuesday the twenty-fifth of July,” Miles answered immediately, “And it was the one where you had to stick something up your bum!”

“See!” Caleb said, pointing at Miles accusingly, “Robot!”

“Beep boop mother-fucker!” Miles said with a wicked grin.

“You like stuff up your bum then?” Luca asked, elbowing Kai playfully.

Kai shook his head as he said, “Nah, that was just messing with those two! Although… yeah, I didn’t hate it!” He smirked as the comment attracted some teasing from the others. Thinking as he waited for it to die down, he finally said, “Probably the one in Market Square. I mean… it was absolutely fucking terrifying and I know we’re lucky we didn’t get arrested, but fuck… it was just… something else!”

As the confession attracted more chatter from the other three, Luca leaned over to Kai and whispered, “I’ve jerked off to videos of that too!”

“Fuck!” Kai groaned, pulling his legs up. “Who’s Ellie?” Luca asked quietly.

Kai leaned towards him and said quietly, “She’s Caleb’s girlfriend. The dare in the mall was actually her idea!”

“Oooh, then I think I like Ellie!” Luca giggled back.

“Not as much as Caleb,” Kai said, grinning at the other boy. He cocked his head for a moment as he added, “Or Miles. Oh my god, he did NOT stop hitting on her!”

As Luca and Kai continued giggling together, all of the other three looked decidedly uncomfortable, though it was Leo who spoke up first as he snapped, “Just do the damn dare!”

“Fine, okay, fine!” Miles huffed, then leaned over to peck Caleb on the cheek. Just as the others started groaning at the cop-out, he turned and insisted, “You know the rules. Stick to the dare exactly. You just said kiss him, not where or for how long or anything, so I did it. Move on!”

“Sneaky,” Luca muttered, getting a reluctant smile back from Miles.

“Next!” Miles said, looking to Caleb with his cheeks still flushed as he said, “Truth or dare?”

“Tr…” Caleb started, but froze in the middle of the word, then shrunk back slightly and said, “Dare!”

Kai and Luca looked at each other excitedly before looking back to Caleb and calling out in absolutely perfect unison, “Kiss Miles on the lips for thirty seconds, with tongues!” They looked at each other, delighted, and both said, “Jynx!” As they rolled around in fits of giggles, the other three returned to looking pissed.

“Fuck me, there’s two of them!” Caleb muttered as he watched the two boys laughing together. “Well… pucker up, Smiles!” he sighed then grabbed Miles who squirmed and groaned, but seemed to accept his fate.

As the two boys’ lips met, the room fell a little quiet. Luca was still chuckling at first while Caleb and Miles kissed. His laughing died off as he glanced at Leo, whose silent gaze and pained expression was fixed on the kissing boys. As he turned to whisper something to Kai, he saw an almost identical look on his boyfriend’s face. Not saying anything, he just sat quietly and waited for the time to pass.

“Oh my god, oh my god, I need the rest of that mouthwash!” Caleb called out as he finally let go of Miles.

“Rude!” Miles snapped. “It’s not like you taste nice or anything. Your foot literally tastes better than your mouth!” he complained, then groaned as he said, “Oh my god, that is a sentence I should NEVER be able to say!”

Just like that, the group was back to laughing as both boys rushed off to rid themselves of the remnants of their kiss.

“Fancy picking truth or dare before they get back?” Luca asked Leo softly. “We might go easier on you than them!” he offered.

Leo smiled at the new boy sweetly and nodded, blushing a little. “I guess I’ll take a dare too!” he said quietly.

“Umm,” Luca hummed, glancing round briefly. Seeing Kai still looking over at Miles and Caleb, he decided to get both brothers at once and said, “I dare you… to beat Kai’s record for how many Maltesers you can fit in your mouth at once!”

“I don’t… have a record for that,” Kai replied, cocking his head curiously as if he had missed something.

“No,” Luca grinned as he reached out to grab a bag of the sweets. He handed it to Kai and said, “But you’re about to! Get shovelling!”

Kai started laughing as he gratefully accepted the bag. “Sounds like my kind of dare!” he said happily.

The game continued on later into the evening, thankfully managing to sidestep any more awkwardness as the group seemed to veer away from the usual, more intimate, dares.

Kai had just returned from the bathroom, having endured a dare of ‘do not respond to anything we do for one minute’ that had resulted in his sweatpants ending up round his ankles, doodles all over his face, a wedgie and more wet willies than he cared to count. “You’re lucky this came off!” Kai pouted, gesturing to his face as he sat back down.

“Hmm,” Kai hummed disapprovingly. “Anyway, I think you need to take a truth next cos I’ve got a great one for you!” he said staring at his new boyfriend seriously.

Luca stared back for a moment, seemingly guessing what was in store as he raised his eyebrows slightly to question it. As Kai smiled and nodded gently, Luca said, “Okay then. Truth!”

As Leo, Caleb and Miles sat in silent anticipation of what they expected to be a particularly embarrassing question, Kai felt his heart pounding. The last time he had felt this nervous was when he had stood naked at the top of stairs preparing to venture out of the house naked in the middle of the day. It was both surprising and pleasing to find something else that could get that kind of reaction from him. As all eyes turned to the group’s newest member, his meek smile slowly grew into a massive grin as he said, “Yes I do!” There was a slight gasp from the others which made him chuckle before he added, “And his name… is Kai Robinson!”

“Huh, you know two Kai Robinsons. What are the odds?” Caleb said in surprise.

Miles’s brow furrowed heavily as he looked to Caleb and said, “Well, there’s the stupidest thing I’m gonna hear today!”

“Oh, Kai!” Caleb said, nodding as he pointed to Kai, getting a headshake from Miles.

“He’s… your boyfriend?” Leo asked slightly shakily.

“Come on. Like the kissing didn’t already give it away!” Miles scoffed.

Leo looked to Miles and asked, “Wait, when were they kissing?” Before Miles could answer, Leo’s eyes suddenly widened as he looked back to Kai and declared, “Hold up. What!? You’re gay?”

“I stand corrected,” Miles smirked, “THAT’S the stupidest thing I’ve heard today!”

As the others started laughing, Leo scowled and snapped, “STOP LAUGHING AT ME!”

“Geez, chill, we’re not laughing at YOU,” Miles said defensively, “You were joking, right? I mean… come on… it’s Kai!”

Kai pouted slightly as he looked at his twin and started, “Leo, are you…”

“I need a minute,” Leo said as he jumped to his feet.

“Leo!” Kai repeated, rushing after Leo as he hurried out of Kai’s room. “Leo, wait!” he called out as he closed the door behind him.

“Kai, don’t,” Leo said, shaking his head as he stopped and looked back. “Don’t worry, this isn’t another big drama. I’m not gonna go and stop talking to you for a few weeks or something. Like I said, I just… need a minute, okay!” he explained.

“Okay, well… come back when you’re ready. I’ll leave the door open and… nobody’ll say anything!” Kai offered.

“Thanks,” Leo said with a gentle nod as he disappeared into his own room.

Kai sighed softly and headed back into his own room. He left the door open as promised, but froze as he saw Miles look at him, grinning.

“It’s gonna be a summer wedding and you are NOT wearing white!” Miles declared.

“How long was I out there?” Kai asked with a snigger, barely able to imagine how that subject had come up so quickly. As Luca, Miles and Caleb sniggered, Kai said softly, “Hey, umm… when he comes back, don’t say anything okay.” It got understanding nods from the group.

“We’ve never done this with five,” Miles hummed thoughtfully as he looked around Kai’s room.

“I could just… y’know… sleep in my own room!” Leo said with a casual shrug. He had been quiet ever since returning from his slight freak-out, but not to the point of seeming moody or sullen, which was a relief after just getting Caleb out of a phase like that. It did eventually lead to the issue of sleeping arrangements.

It was always a point of amusement for them that they sometimes insisted on sharing one room. They had one proper bed and one camp bed available right across the hall, but sometimes it was simply habit.

“No!” Kai insisted. Aside from wanting to keep his brother close, just to make sure he was okay, he really wanted Luca to have the full sleepover experience. That included every belch, fart and snore that usually came with it. “I mean… we’re hangin’ out. Nobody needs to leave!” he said with a meek smile.

“Maybe he was just thinking you two might want some privacy to… y’know… do stuff,” Caleb said, shrugging as if he had mentioned something as casual as a handshake.

“Woah, I… oh… umm…” Luca stuttered, visibly shaken.

“Not under my roof!” Miles suddenly interjected. As everyone looked at him, he shrugged and said, “Oh wait, not my roof. But still, like Kai said, we’re sharing and I don’t need to be hearing… whatever it is gay people do!”

Kai smirked slightly, amused by the fact that the pathologically straight boy was the one he had done the most ‘gay’ things with out of everyone in the room. Amusement aside, he caught Miles’ eye and mouthed, “Thank you!”

“Let’s just… do what we do when we’re feeling lazy,” Miles shrugged before he started gesturing to explain, “I can manage a night with dickface over on the spare bed. Arsebreath and gayboy over there. New guy gets the pull-out!”

As Luca looked thoroughly lost at the explanation, Leo raised his hand pointed to himself as he said, “Dickface!”

“Arsebreath and gayboy over here,” Caleb said, casually throwing an arm around Kai.

“Which one are you?” Kai smirked, though it dropped a little as Caleb’s suddenly pulled his arm back, chuckling awkwardly.

“So how long am I gonna be ‘new guy’?” Luca asked casually as they set about preparing the room for sleep.

“Umm, for as long as you’re the new guy. Duh!” Miles said bluntly. Rolling his eyes as he grinned, he caught Kai’s eye and said, “Guessing you’re with him for his looks!”

“Hey,” Luca complained defensively, “I’m one of the smartest in my class!”

Miles looked from the new boy, to Kai, to Caleb and back as he said, “Yeah, that’s a low bar!”

“Heyyyy!” Kai and Caleb both complained.

“Is he wrong?” Luca asked with a snigger.

Kai and Caleb pouted at each other before Caleb muttered, “Yeah, he but he doesn’t need to say it!”

“It’s just rude!” Kai added, with fake moodiness.

The banter continued as they got the room set up. The pull-out bed, stored under the spare bed Miles and Leo would share, was wheeled right across the room to be next to Kai’s bed. Though the new couple hadn’t seemed ready to sleep together, it was clear they still wanted to be close.

When Luca returned from the bathroom, trousers removed to sleep in his underwear and t-shirt, he froze at the sight of Kai, Caleb and Leo all clad in nothing but underwear.

“You okay?” Miles asked, seeing Luca stopped awkwardly in the doorway.

Kai felt slightly guilty. Barely twenty-four hours earlier, he had effectively accused his brother of being homophobic. He couldn’t help feeling the comment was partly aimed his way, if only to disprove the accusation.

As always, the first few attempts to settle down failed miserably, usually a result of some random question or non-sequitur from one of the boys, leading to more chatter. Eventually though, quiet actually settled in across the dark bedroom.

After a few minutes, there was a sound of shuffling and Miles called out, “Okay, who’s wanking? I can hear it!”

“I was just scratching my foot!” Caleb replied.

“Second opinion?” Luca joked.

Miles suddenly sat up, just about visible in the darkened room. “Fuckin’ rude!” he huffed.

“Okay, that means another one of these,” Luca said as he sat up. It got immediate groans from Caleb, Miles and Leo as he leaned in to say, “Good night!” before pecking Kai on the lips.

“Night,” Kai said, feeling inordinately guilty about the cold wetness in his underwear as his spunk quickly cooled.

People began shuffling about, getting comfortable again to sleep. Kai rolled onto his side, facing out across the room and just as he found a good position, he felt Caleb slide against him, a hand casually draping across him. He already felt guilty about letting another boy wank him off while his boyfriend was right there, so having him effectively cuddling up to him too just made the feeling worse. And yet, it felt wonderful. He had missed Caleb so much over the past couple of weeks and all it took was one arm draped over him to make all that hurt melt away.
