iOS Pricing Issue Update

Thanks all for taking the time to vote and comment on my recent post about the iOS pricing due to Apple's imminent subscription charge changes.

Although I'm aware not everyone has voted (and many may not have even seen it yet) I'm fairly confident that I have a fair picture of thoughts and feelings on it, and it's nice to see they largely mirror my own.

Based on the feedback I have received, I have decided to opt for the 'increased charge on iOS' option when the changes come into effect in November. I have made this decision based primarily in the hopes that it will encourage people away from Apple subscriptions. What they are doing feels like extortion and it's not fair that either patrons or creators should be out of pocket for their rampant greed.

This means that, from November, if you subscribe through the iOS app, you will see your subscription fee change from £5 to £6.50. As I have previously stated, I don't want to ever see any of my patrons paying more for the same thing, so I encourage anyone who is currently on iOS to consider switching to the browser version. I will continue to encourage new subscribers to do the same.

Hopefully Apple sees the error of their ways if enough people abandon subscriptions through iOS.

Just as a reminder, I do not benefit from this change. I still get the same percentage of subscription payments. If you remain on iOS, the extra amount you will be paying does not go to me and it does not go to Patreon, it goes to Apple.

If I remember, I'll do some reminders closer to the time for anyone who remains on iOS. The changes will apparently come into effect in November, so if you're needing to make any changes, you still have a couple of months to do so.
