Evolution of Darryl (NSFW)
Added 2022-06-26 13:57:13 +0000 UTCOooooh Darryl! I have to admit, Darryl is the character that I knew the LEAST about... Well... Until recently that is.
I was panicking a little bit inside when I saw that he was chosen for the next character profile 'cause I was thinking "Damn, I know he's a weeb, but that's pretty much it." Thankfully, him winning the poll was EXACTLY the excuse I needed to get writing. I started developing his character and ngl kinda fell in love with him a little bit.
I ended up resurrecting an old idea I had of having him take tons of temp jobs to help pay for his anime figures addiction (if you don't know how much these cost, you might think I'm joking, but it's a real struggle guys, trust me 🥲) and from there, we had more to bond over and I started knowing him just as much as the others.
Fun fact: in my first draft for Cabaret Bara, Darryl was only a bouncer, not a part-time host like he is now. And he was gonna be the first staff member to meet Finn and to "meet" Finn. He was very stoic back then, kinda like Pavel. I think the warmer side of him we see nowadays suits him better though.

2022-06-26 16:56:28 +0000 UTCRegardless of who his mentor would've been, Finn would've still been a big stoopid himbo 😉 that's just who he is! But his training would've been very different and he probably would've hung out with different guys... And then some of the events might've turned out very differently (Finn's Christmas Carol and My Lovely Valentine come to mind) and that's why I'm obsessed with the Mentor Alek and Mentor Darryl AUs haha!
