It's funny because Firouz has changed so much in a way, but he also really stayed the same somewhat... Does that make sense?
The first iteration was definitely more of a basic hunky guy, a bit of a douchebag most likely, overconfident, wears too much cologne, that kinda guy.
Then the second iteration from when I started the comic was The Gaymer™ and there really wasn't that much more to him aside from the fact that he was Aries so of course, he hates to lose lol. After establishing some more facts about him with the "Get in the Game" episode and with his relationship with Ben, he started to evolve and I found some more nuance to him.
Now, he's still the group's biggest gamer, but he's also a very smart guy, he's in Uni, on a student visa, and he's roomies/besties with Ben. He's working with Ben on a video game project which will become relevant to the plot too. Parts of him are still very "teenager", but he also has some maturity that others might miss. He's super determined and wants to make his dreams come true and he's willing to make the sacrifices for that. Yes, he got a rocky start with Finn, but I think they'll get along much better now that they've had the raft talk. And since Finn is becoming closer with Ben, it means it's unavoidable that Firouz will pop up again in his life.
And you know what they say. Guys who free an evil sorcerer from a video game together stick together.
