Progress update (Edit 3)
Added 2024-11-01 20:10:00 +0000 UTCHello!
An update letting you know where I am at currently.
Man time flies, but I've just finished the all base animation work for the remade CG which is the bulk of what's needed and now there's just the effects, sounds, implementing it in the game and final testing.
I think the effects will take 1-2 days to finish, then the rest taking less than a day after that.
Here's hoping it go without any hitches.
(Edit 1)
After rendering everything ready for the sounds I've just noticed an issue in the base animation, some of the layers seem to be misaligned by a tiny amount and I'm not sure as to why, the previous animation didn't have this issue. I've been trying a few things to try resolve the problem and haven't had any luck yet but I've still got a few things to try out. I just hope it won't take much longer to fix so I can have the release today.
(Edit 2)
Well I know what's causing the issue, the physics used for some of the movement in the base animation doesn't behave identical between separately rendered layers making them slightly misaligned in movement, with the previous animation (Vilnera) not having the same issue I didn't think It would be a problem (but physics was used a bit less on that one) . There are a few ways I think I could go about fixing the issue but none I can think of are quick.
However...
One of my older base animation renders that I finished earlier did seem to have most of the layers aligning well enough in the preview, so I kept it just in case. It doesn't have a change I made in one of the scenes but it'll do as I think's it's better to release that and then work on trying to solve the issue. I can easily enough swap the base animation and re-render everything when I fully fix it.
So I've set the base animation + Effect/camera/background to render and the estimate is around 10 hrs to render all the 36 loops/transitions. I'll be working on most of the sounds in the meantime using the first render with misaligned layers as reference to save time later.
(Edit 3)
Just wanted to quickly update that I'm not far off now, I'm currently implementing the CG into the game and then do some final testing, make sure everything works fine and then have it released within the next few hours.
Have an excellent day!
