I hope you're all doing well!
With the 3 CG's now being released, I thought I'd give you all some insight on the CG's themselves and a little on what's planned.
- Aziela's CG -
This was meant to be me trying out three things:
A different way to rig the head/face so that the changes in the direction of the face would affect the hair physics instead of just the head position doing so. But it was proving to be not as simple as I hoped, so I scrapped that when I re-did the face.
See how less separated layers would look for the body, which seemed to mostly work for this scene at least but I'd probably prefer more layers for more freedom in what I can do when animating, even if it takes more time.
A different way I handled the camera (using a tracking point that follows a chosen point) that's less manual work (I can still manually move it for anything that needs it), saving time.
- Bellatrix's CG -
This was me testing out two main things:
Having different body parts scaling at varying amount when moving towards the camera to try maintain a 3d look.
My first attempt at using a single image for the face instead of several to try keep more of the original image intact and not lost when separating it into layers.
- Nyx's CG-
This was me trying out a quite a few things:
Using more separated layers than usual to see how that would look, which I liked but it just takes a lot more time.
Having layers that are in front and behind that also has to have effects that go in front and behind other layers. (for example, the tail needing to be behind and in front at the same time)
My first attempt at facial tattoos that can glow and deform with the face.
A different way I did the glow effect around the Succubus (Instead of it being behind, it's all in front but just cut off around the body/tail/wings).
An improved second attempt at using a single image for the face that keeps more of the original image (Using what I learned from the Bellatrix one).
A different way I set up the images so that I can easily edit or entirely replace it, even if it's a different size if needed. Which I'll be using going forward.
Having a rig able to do two things tail/cowgirl which the cowgirl part will be used for a later scene since it didn't seem right to have both for just the initial scene considering how long it ended up being already.
An improvement on the camera tracking point that can now combine several points I choose at varying amounts and I hope I'll get better at using as I learn what works or not (for example: 50% of the MC's body movement, 25% of the Succubus waist up and down only, 10% of the Succubus head side to side only, all combined into the tracking point).
- Chapters -
I was originally going to have it so one chapter would usually include a focus on the MC's world then focus on a Succubi world. But when making Vesperis I decided it would make more sense to have those split into smaller separate chapters, especially for the chapter select.
So for example it went from:
Ch 1 - Focus on the MC's world then on a Succubi World (Vesperis).
Ch 2 - Focus on the MC's world then a different Succubi world.
To the current:
Ch 1 - Focus on MC's world.
Ch 2 - Focus on Succubi World (Vesperis).
Ch 3 - Focus on MC's world.
Ch 4 - Focus on different Succubi World.
Also just as a note, if a world is the focus of a chapter, it doesn't mean there won't be some content outside of it during that Chapter.
- Short term plans (Minor updates) -
Continued improvements to dialogue/story/grammar.
Minor edits to current CG's.
Find and implement a solution to default to text visibility.
- Long term plan (Content updates) -
Continued Story.
4 or so New CG's:
At least half will be Energy Drain ones.
The positions are not fully decided yet, but at least one will be a none PoV scene since that's wanted and something I've not done yet.
At least two will be a Vaginal penetration scene.
I'll be making note of how how long each part takes to create for those interested (base asset creation & separation, base rigging, base animation, effect & camera animation, render times).
Continuation of MC's combat development.
Implementation of an ally in combat.
Redo the audio in the NSFW scenes so that I can add two more audio channels, one for sex sound effects and one for energy drain effects. Letting people adjust it if they find one too loud compared to the other.
Improve the base sex sounds after they are separated and on their own audio channel.
Remake the chapter select so you can see the choices in a better layout and that saves what you select, making it so you don't have to re-select everything each time.
- The planned rework for chapter 1 -
With the expressed issues with Chapter 1, I plan to work on improvements after Chapter 2 is done and will add new CG's, expanded Red Wolves story to make it more gradual, improved variety in the combat navigation section (such as non combat events) and other improvements.
Well I think that's everything for now... But If anything changes or I forgot anything, I'll let you know and edit this post.
