Iβm watching this so late but Iβm so happy to be catching up π€ These episodes made me so sad. Itβs such a big moment for lapis and peri! It shows how far their friendship has come but also gives you hints of how lapisβs trauma has unintentionally manifested an uneven dynamic between the two. Peridot likely avoids telling her things not just because sheβs her friend and doesnβt wanna upset her, but I can only assume itβs also lingering hints of guilt for kidnapping her onto the ship way back when too. It really does also show how far dot has come in terms of loving earth vs lapis still being too bogged down by memories of the way to feel safe. That all said I always thought peridots reaction to their βbreak upβ was SO funny. Her just moping in the bathtub with country music blaring gets me giggling even though I feel bad for her. Itβs giving SpongeBob hung over on ice cream at the goofy goober restaurant. Sheβs so silly.
