Here's some behind the scenes stuff for you. I've used a number of "to-do list" systems over the years. I'm a big fan of lists - it's incredibly satisfying to cross something off, and for a long time I just carried a notebook with me everywhere. At the start of each day I would come up with 10-15 things I wanted to get done ranging from "send email to" to huge things like "finish poster". It felt good to cross things off the list and at the end of the day I would tell myself I had earned X number of "points" (X=items crossed off) and that always felt damn good. The problem with the notebook is that I have to carry it with me everywhere, which isn't always feasible. It also means that when I'm working on my laptop I have to take up more space - which is fine if I'm at home alone spread out on my bed, but not so great for sitting at cafes or the like. So I'm currently retrying the "Stickies" app on my Macbook as a to-do. Pros:- Easily accessible on my computer
- Can add things very quickly and give myself notes
- Colorful
- Doesn't take up space
Cons:
- Not as satisfying to cross things off (hence the creation of a "Completed" sticky)
- Can't add to it when I'm not at my computer
Also pictured in the background is me putting way more work into creating a banner for my upcoming workshop at Red Curtain Foundation than I needed to before realizing that and just putting in a simple image that conveyed the idea.
