This photo was taken while I was performing what I call my "Straight White Boys Texting" act, or alternatively "Why Would You Send That?". Essentially, I gather together a 'Best Of' collection of messages I have received on various platforms on the internet of a sexually explicit nature. Let me clarify, an *unsolicited* sexually explicit nature. The irony of this particular version of the act is that the gentleman reading off the male parts is a guy that I a) Met on Tinder and b) Really super duper like and would definitely encourage to send me more pictures of his naked body. But the *point* of this act is to point out that these things happen to every woman, on every platform. Yes, I am on dating sites and that arguably means that I am "asking for it" or otherwise shouldn't be surprised to receive a "Wanna fuck?" instead of a hello. But not only fuck that, what about the ones I got on faceook? Or instagram? I'm a sex-positive woman, known to put out on the first date. In fact, if I like a guy I'll probably bang him pretty shortly after meeting him if I so choose because I am NOT subtle when there's interest. And that's just as ok as someone who doesn't have sex until they're married or whenever they damn well choose, for the record. But even as a woman who is so sexually liberated, I still want to be treated like a person. I want to at least have the option of going out for a drink even if we both know we're just getting down and dirty. And if that's how I feel as a proud and self-defined slut, how do you think that women who aren't as comfortable with their sexuality feel?  Stop sending these messages. Start sharing these messages. Let it be known that this thing happens every day. That they're something to be laughed at, not afraid of. Photography by Vitz Photos

It absolutely is, because 9 times out of 10 what they're doing is asserting dominance.

*applauds* I honestly don't get guys like that. I'm (fairly heavily) 'textually active', and i'm just boggled by the gall and callous disregard of another person's feelings. You're right, we need to remember that this is a manifestation of The Dumb, and needs socially corrected. Ridicule is a powerful weapon in that arsenal.
