One of my mottos for planning fun party events is Drunk People = Toddlers. I'm not sure if this is a generational thing ("Millennials love nostalgia") or an alcohol thing or just that everyone secretly loves an ice breaker, but I have found that activities such as coloring pages, Mad Libs, and other grade school level party games are just as popular with adults drinking alcohol as they are with children drinking punch. This leads me to the wonderful world of pintrest, where dedicated parents running Mommy Blogs tell all the best ways to entertain youths and even provide free templates or instructions freely offered to help make sure your special party is the best it can be. So naturally I take them all and put my own twist on things to better appeal to the spooky crowd. Not sure how these good wholesome blog runners would feel about this application of their work, but I get a kick out of it and damn if it doesn't work every time. For tonights festivities, I'm going to print out some horror mad libs, simple ouija boards, and anything else that will be not messy and entertain folks while staying with the 'Horror Slumber Party' theme. I'm really excited, mostly because I get to DJ in a onsie.
