Moments in my Life as an Artist That Both Take Place in Bed Next to My Partner
Added 2018-07-18 20:05:04 +0000 UTC1. Me up at 1am last night, setting up all of my promotional posts for today. My partner was already asleep, but he had one arm wrapped around my waist (well more across my lap) as I worked. When I finally put my laptop down it was after 2am but I was wide awake.
Of course this morning my laptop had not saved any of my work BUT at least firefox restored my tabs which was half of it. I had to re-track down the appropriate images (fortunately everything was in "recent" so that was at least nice) and redo the work. I was frustrated but it was also a good kickstart to my day.
2. Me receiving a message Monday night asking me to MC an event, being asked how much I charge. I wasn't sure and was very ready to undersell myself. My partner insisted that my time is worth more and should charge appropriately. I countered that what if they rejected my request, he told me that that's called a negotiation. They signed on to the higher amount no problem.
Alright, I've got 2 shows and a panel on Consent tonight. Let's do this.
