SSLP REVIEW - SDGAF!

Uh...the SSLP was.....different. Some good Eminem 101

SSLP REVIEW - SDGAF!

Comments

I loved this song. Still like it. I believe he said that he and Dre were high in the studio for a lot of this album lol.

KS

I love this song, no nostalgia, no crack, idkkkk man, shit is weird, but Eminem could always rap rap as he showcased in Infinite.

Reina

The rhymes though! You gotta understand it was like very fucking few mc's that did internal rhymes like that at this point in hip hop. It's like watching a really good basketball player operate from triple threat position. That is a fundamental skill in basketball, extremely versatile and effective, however it wasn't always a thing.

Jawrool

Bro you missed so much on this album it's fucking depressing. You were so excited to call everything shock value that you didn't even fucking listen to the shit.

Joshua Clewley

Yeah, I don't get people saying this is the one. It's cool for what it was, I guess. But this was no where near the one...

Brandon Scott

I love this song but the shit he is doing now is so much more advanced

Joey Bones

Rock bottom was the furthest thing from shock value

Mort

What's funny is people say he hasn't had good music on his last 4 albums. They think this stuff is better than what he does now. LMAO

Jimmy McMinn

Yeah, this! Stevie is totally sleeping on the multi-syllabic rhyme and the humor in this album

Dylan Beschoner

I feel you fam. The tracks you like are the same ones i liked 😂. I completly agree with you

Miguel Medina

Say what you want about shock value, but his multi syllable rhyming has been the best since day one

Alec Harris

Marshall mathers lp is 1000% better than the slim shady lp. Not even close. I love slim shady lp for nostalgia only. 3 worst of ems projects. Mmlp. Is where it starts to come together. Tracks like “way I am” “criminal” shit bumps.

Andrew Pisano

It was great when I was 17, but it doesn't age as well as I had thought. I still know all of the words, but I realize now it had no real substance. But can't expect it to from the this album. Nostalgia is real tho.

Levi Oliver

Although it lack bars, the beat had you bumping your head and his lyrics were fun when you are not looking for something other than face value. This is a fun song in my opinion. His rhyme patterns are still crazy. Hope you enjoy MMLP and TES lol

Nicolás Montiel

Say what you say feat dre _ barssssss

Michael Dumaine

I'll forever love and support the fact that you're bluntly honest with your true feelings. I LOVE that. It's how it should be and it gives everything you say real weight. I knew you'd hate this LP. It's not in your lane at all and it has not aged well. I think you'll be 50/50 on MMLP (there's still some shock value in there, but the growth in ability and pure raw emotion is 10 fold) but TES on wards is what you'll fuck with (excluding maybe 50-70% of Encore, which is his real drugged up album).

scamrasc

Early Em, if you hadn't heard, will always be a mix of shock/cringe/creativity/madness hahah I remember Beck hearing it when it dropped and was laughing with him more than anything 😂

phoenix

The album is good if your used to slim but I personally like MMLP and Eminem show way better!

Micah

Yeah i mean it isnt as bad as u say it is in my opinion bro, BUT it's never a classic either. It's nostalgic as u said and this is like 30 years ago and he shocked the world with this kind of rap. MMLP is def a classic tho!! Alot of classic tracks on there, for real. And im not a "stan" as ppl allways say if they dont agree lol, im just a fan of the rap art & culture. But u gotta do MMLP, that's prob my favorite album from EM. But its close asf with "the Eminem show" & "Encore". But then again Relapse/Recovery/MMLP2 and all his shit are fucking classic except for Revival! And i actually like Revival, it just doesnt have much replay value. But what he's touching on with content go over ppl's head because the beats aint right & he's more like the woke Em talking real shit. So 1 listen and they call it trash.. Like, u gotta sit with a deep album and take it in before judge it. That's atleast how I work. Fucking hell i wrote a fucking novel here, keep up the grind bro! (btw I like that u are honest aswell), Peace!

Ted

You are right about the nostalgia. I was 13/14 impressionable as shit when I heard this, like you said it’s probably why I can still kick back and listen to it now and again considering the levels the level he puts out now. Hope the MMLP doesn’t let you down. There’s a lot of shock value in that too. Appreciate the honesty- that’s a big part of why we fuck with you.

Dsmh

Love your honest review of the SSLP - it really is Eminem 101. Would love to see you go through the albums in chronological order - MMLP has always been my personal favourite and is considered by most his best album to date. A much more personal and reflective work (huge leap from the SSLP). Hope you'll get to it

Christopher Simon

The Eminem Show and Recovery I think are the albums you will fuck with the most when it comes to older EM. Recovery isnt too old but still 10 years ago. Appreciate your honesty on these reactions so far man!

SECKO

ass?? awww man. but hey u keep it 100

Davey Locker

By far my favorite track on this album. MMLP up next people!!! 🔥🔥🔥

dennis pugh

Yeah I concur with the the comment up above about are you going to hit up the next album? Like I've been saying the Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem show are going to blow your effin mind!

Scott Flaherty

Congrats on finishing this, MMLP is just shock value stuff but with better beats, The Eminem Show is the one i think you would fuck with the most, but with that being said, some songs on the MMLP are still classic like, the way i am, i'm back, drug ballad, bitch please 2, criminal, and em's verse in Remember me.

Rama Djuhana

But anyway keep it up SK youre doing a hella good job i always listen to your reactions on my way to work in the morning...much love from Denmark, Europe

Michael Brodersen

Yeah, you should do the eminem show that album is a legit classic masterpiece...

Michael Brodersen

Slim Shady LP was based on his Shady persona and that side of Eminem is not about bars he just says outlandish and shock value lyrics. Looking forward to your Marshall Matters LP review. You will enjoy that album

Jose Rubero

I wasn’t a fan of this album as well. What’s your plans on when you’re starting the next album Stevie?

Jackson Wells

Marshal Mathers LP next? lol the way i am is a classic

Jonathan Nelson

I love and appreciate your honesty, this album wasn’t for you I’m just happy you listened to it at least. So many people form their opinions on em and never even listened to an entire album. So respect bro.

Michael

Yes that’s facts we love this album because we all had that tape with our Walkman blasting that shit. I will always love this album.

Michael
