But, then again, you prob had to be there. Biggest impact I've ever seen from an album dropping. Only time I've seen one artist as almost the ONLY thing played from the middle of the country to rich neighborhoods to the projects for months and months. At last here. But I guess you'd have to listen to Em getting shittier and shittier for 7 years then come out of nowhere rapping like absolutely no one ever had, at the time. Taking some of the stuff Wayne had started, some elements of the newly catching battle rap scene, but flat out designing half or more, like only Em can. some shit no onr had ever heard anything like; but we would continue to hear elements of in much of mainstream AND underground rap for years after.. I'm no "Stan" either. It was just that big and thay revolutionary. And if you didn't live that timeline I guess you can't really get how huge and how dope it was. I went from loving Em as a young teen to not checking for him at all. EVERYONE thought he was done. He had some radio songs here and there and he had some funny stuff rapping in weird accenrs and about Facking. But as a real force no one believed he would be back. No one. Then when I was 21 or so... BAM. Rick Ross noticrd his fall, challenged him to a battle while he was down. Smart move. Cept no one knew what was coming. Slipped Despicable and punked Ross out while he had 2 the Midas Touch on both hands and his feet and his goddamn dog's tongue. in then Crushed the world with a classic that changed how rap sounded. Had to be there.
