This is my understanding when I comes to per say an “hip hop language.” The definition of corny would be along the lines of geek rap. The opposite of rapping about shit that can relate to the street life/being a gangster which is where hip hop originated.

Eminem intentionally uses a somewhat corny but still fire flow (which is very hard to explain why that makes sense) to bait other mcs to believing they can go at Eminem because of a semi corny flow, which Eminem will then move away from the corny/but still just fire enough,, and come with some insane/gritty/hard content that not only amazes the fans but destroys yet another MC.

But the words did come to him as the instrumental was introduced to him. Though I’m sure several tracks were done in one take. The way Wayne created his art almost compares to how directors create movies. The movie isn’t shot in one take. It’s “Action, cut. Take 2 and action.. etc etc.. It’s basically the same outcome as hearing the instrumental and then laying the verse to paper and then taking it to the booth. “More than 1 way to skin a cat.” Regardless, Wayne is top 5 all time. My opinion he’s number 2. Arguably number 1 but I grew up on Wayne until Marshal dropped that Recovery album. So you ask, do I think Wayne could out rap Eminem? No. Eminem will “bait” an MC with his kinda corny white guy flow but yet still kinda dope style he displays at times “which is tactically genius” just so one will call him out and then Eminem does what Eminem does.. let’s his arsenal off. Still nobody can do what Wayne was doing for 10+ years with bar after bar plus doubles.. 🔥 track after 🔥 track. I think Wayne fell off IMO when he let auto tune become his identity and not being a rapper. The public’s opinion anyway.. I’m sure Wayne never felt that way but he never defended himself against that narrative I guess

Like for instance if cardi b were to rap bodak yellow to some random beat someone puts on they will call it a freestyle and to me that's not what freestyle is. To me freestyle is off the top or even if there were unheard punchlines made before hand and inserted into the freestyle off the top is what real freestyle is but a written verse that people spit to some beat they ain't heard before don't make it a freestyle. Imo anyway I think the majority of ppl these days disagree with me so maybe I'm wrong.
