IF YOU DON'T KNOW BOUT EM DONT SPEAK ABOUT EM

Would eminem lose in a verzuz? Lets see what some celebs think?

IF YOU DON'T KNOW BOUT EM DONT SPEAK ABOUT EM

Comments

I am proud to say that I've been standing by Eminem side since day one this is my spot to the end.

Angela Kirk

superman, patiently waiting

Abe Fan

As soon as he said "If Em was black, he would be Redman", he completely LOST the entire argument. Sorry, but you have to rate a person's ability based on their skin color? YOU are the racist individual. The fact that you have to change Em's skin color to properly place him in regards to who you consider "top tier" shows that Em IS 'top tier', YOU just don't like that someone who is "top tier" doesn't have the skin color YOU think they should have. Once you ignore skill to focus on skin, YOU have no place in the argument of who should be battling who.

Herrzimm

Russ dimaggio

Mort

Yo,, russ - aint goin back

Andrew Levine

Facts! That's why he does more shows outside the US than he does in it, most of his haters are in the US.

DesertKate Walker

lose yourself is a WIN 100%, EM still can use Not Afraid, Sing for the Moment, RapGod and Love the Way you Lie and Get Rhianna Fans on board kkkkk

Peu Oliver Guimarães

For someone who claim to be "knowledgeable" Charlemange still on the "hood/block" mentalit, yes the Rappers he said, prob have more Bangers/club songs than Eminem but on a Verzus the song with more impact will WIN, the moment Em drop "LOSE YOURSELF " He will have ppl from US,UK, BRASIL, RUSSIA to JAPAN with 10 to 60 Years old who know the melody and lyrics... same goes for Till i colapse, Sing for the Moment, RapGod, Love The Way You Lie (Rihanna fans will join in), GODZILLA and etc... ppl forget VERZUZ is WORLDWIDE, and EM worldwide fans are HUGE.

Peu Oliver Guimarães

I've always said "Give Marshall the right beats and he'll make the best possible song on them". I don't think there was ever a case in which I thought "The beat is dope, but Eminem failed". It's usually the other way around "Even if the beat SUCKS DICK, Em did a good job, considering...". And regarding REVIVAL: What I hate the most about it, is that it got labeled "The awoke Em" when that is not true AT ALL. Just because "Walk On Water", "Untouchable" and "Like Home" were on it, doesn't mean it's AWOKE Em. Most of the songs on it were not about being woke. Framed, Heat, Offended, Remind Me, Chloraseptic, River, Bad Husband, Tragic Endings and Need Me were neither AWOKE nor lyrically amazing, or hits. They were just awful or average. Heat and Offended.... god damn it, I hate those songs with a passion. Framed was OK but too much like RELAPSE-content. Chloraseptic was bad. The remix was a lot better. Bad Husband was just mediocre. And then, love songs... which we're not used to get from Em. They're musically pleasing to the ear (Tragic Endings, Need Me, In Your Head), and they would've been good fill-up songs had the rest of the album been great. So, in my opinion, this album got wrongfully labeled "the awoke Em", but it's not that, at all. I think an entire concept album about society, politics, etc would be dope and he would kill it! But Revival wasn't it.

GFX MOD

The objective opinion is a big part. The Eminem fanbase is the biggest fanbase BUT the anti-Eminem "fanbase" will auto vote against Eminem.

xHockey

Charlemange hates Em. He is such a hater

Lisa

I truly hate like... 97% of Em talk. Both groups are incredibly huge and annoying.

Jeremy Dunfee

It's such a crazy thing seeing someone who has completely overlooked a legend for years hear stuff for the first time. It's almost like re-discovering Em, reliving it all. It doesn't always hit quite the same when you listen backwards. Some shit that was revolutionary and insanely creative at the time, shit that changed everything... prob seems simple or vintage, now. But you may just never know. Like me listening to Rakim, or something. I just don't get why it's so "crazy". I'd like to find some other folks who have just discovered Jay Z, old and middle Wayne, etc.

Jeremy Dunfee

I hated Revival even MORE because it had the makings of his greatest album; his life's work. It had the bones. It's like he purposely tried to take his dopest project and make it sound as trash as possible. And succeeded... Em is on this weird work schedule where he seems to need to put out trash to get the hate and leverage it into a genius album. But we have to endure.... years of garbage with some gems sprinkled in in between lol well not GARBAGE. Let me be fair, here. I don't think he' ever put out a complete TRASH album with no good tracks or upsides. But trash for Em... and to be fair he' been back on top of his game for a few years, now.

Jeremy Dunfee

And they are JUST as prone to pointless bias. I'd argue even more so. For every true Stan there's an anti-Stan who just doesn't want to accept the man has proven himself just as much as any other rapper; if not more.

Jeremy Dunfee

Stevie is speaking 100% FACTS!! I’m with you ALL THE WAY bro!

jess.

Speaking of Redman, you should do a reaction/versus to Em and Redman’s song “Off the Wall”. Make sure you do the uncensored version.

Josh Revoir

Also there are too many em haters that are just as delusional as the crazy stans

Mike

I’d consider myself a Stan BUT I’m not a crazy Stan like the ones Stevie talking about. I don’t love everything Eminem has put out but I still love his music. But charlamagne is an idiot club music don’t mean shit! Em don’t make club music so idk y that matters. Thank u Stevie more ppl need to understand n be more open minded like u!

Mike

Stans are def not objective. But on the other side there’s also the anti-stans that will hate on Em regardless

Tom Zoeter

facts for example stan or lose yourself etc i dont care what you put against them they will win

Cillian Doherty

Totally agree! Check out “Our House” if you haven’t. It’s another unreleased one! Keep well 👍

ClaireyElizabeth

I think if you just take the features where is going for the other rappers head, you'd have damn near 20 to wash most rappers. Isn't smack that a club banger tho? Or bitch please II?

Enigma429ad

(Jason King) Couldn’t have said it better man. I listen to way more music outside of the club, this whole discussion is a waste of time.

Kostia

Charlemagne is a hyena. There is so many variables in this discussion to be put on the table. I got goosebumps when you played Lose yourself. That says a lot. Those versus are cool but the result depends on too many factors to reflect the reality. And fuck everybody that says that young people dont listen to Eminem! Godzilla is about to hit 250 M views on the tube and 500 M listens on Spotify. Who did that? I’m a fan of Em cause I’m a fan of rap. I don’t relate to what he’s saying, I just love how far he goes with his pen. Period. Also I’m tired of hearing ignorant people speak about something they dont know.

Kostia

not gunna lie i like your reactions to these type of vids nearly just as much as the song reactions

Cillian Doherty

STEVIE NEEDS TO GET ON THESE PODCASTS. SMH 🤦‍♀️

Alfredo

I’m still trying to figure out when “club bangerz” made you a creditable rapper. The shit backwards now days I guess.

Randall O

When you’re right, you’re right.

Randall O

Facts. This is exactly why I don't consider myself a STAN. Yeah I love Eminem as an artist, his creativity, his brain... and for me, he's the best rapper of all time (and then Tupac) but I only love 70% of his music. Em is on Michael Jackson's level. The only artist in the history of music to achieve that unique status, in terms of what he represents as a whole. But He's also been one of the most inconsistent artists ever. Blame it on the terrible beats he's picked, but still... inconsistency plagued his career. That's why so many people will never place Eminem up there with the GOATs (other than because of his skin color). He's been his biggest enemy (aren't we all though?). Encore, Relapse, Revival... all trash, in my opinion. But he has so many ANTHEMS, no other hip-hop artists even comes close: Lose Yourself, The Way I Am, Sing For The Moment, Stan, Till I Collapse, My Name Is, Cleanin Out My Closet, Without Me, The Real Slim Shady, and the list goes on. Everybody, from the US all the way to China know those songs. I doubt Kanye, Lil Wayne, JayZ, never got to that level and they don't have as many anthems. They may have bigger bangers though.

GFX MOD

You always keep it a 100 my G

GFX MOD

Like I just said above... how often do you look at the masses and go "damn, they're right"..... "they made a well-informed and thoughtful decision"... lol it can't be often... I'm not going to sit here and pretend Em would even shred Kodak or Gucci by public opinion... 3 mumbled words a min and a hot beat could easily take the public vote. Just depends on the crowd. (and I do like Kodak and Gucci. No disrespect. Just picking 2 artists that aren't laughable in popularity and accomplishment but should inarguably be EASY wins for Em and his catalogue) .. depends what crowd... If it's 11:30 PM on a Sunday one of these "Little Whatever" dudes might wash Em lol grown men and women are mostly asleep. And if they're not they're prob leaning heavy or yakked out. Those dudes want some Lil Sleeping Pills ft 0384...27586 LTYFOHD King Lord Prince Something or Another dude jumping around with his shirt off and a rocket launcher naming dif dead people for a whole verse. Again man, I'm just the messenger. And maybe I'm wrong and just too cynical. But somehow I doubt it. (For the record I don't even think it's unreasonable for the one wjth more dance songs or club hits to win. There's no criteria; strictly subjective)

Jeremy Dunfee

Lol bro it just is what it is. The radio never played much Em. Clubs didn't play much Em. Not many people played Em at parties. The hood-type folks never really checked for Em like that. Anyone I know who is a music fan and likes Em won't sit there and play Em all night and day; like I said, I love Em and listen to Em a lot.. but I have to be in a certain mood. Young kids aren't checking for Em as much. Pop fans aren't into most of Em's stuff. If it's a crowd of Stans, a crowd of hiphop-heads, or MAYBE an older crowd Em could potentially beat anyone... if you just put Em against Drake or Wayne the public reaction wouldn't even be close. Em would get shit on by public opinion. The strictly-Stan folks are strong. But not THAT strong. I personally think Jay, Wayne and Nas and Drake would give Em a 20 on 20 run for his money. Not the others. And I'm sure I would pick Em. But as far as the public consensus goes... I just don't see it. Don't shoot the messenger. And ya My Name Is and Guilty Conscience were garbage, man. Only BAD tracks on SSLP. Role Model wasn't. But ya that had to sour some would be fans off the bat(though I'm sure it more than made up for their numbers with other types of folks)

Jeremy Dunfee

garbage...Eminem doesnt advertise his releases the same way I dont play his music around people. He drops an album and it beats every rapper. Reaction channels and even poppin Patreon channels can give you a pulse of what will kill anything you mentioned that would wash Em

Michael C

Eminem - W.T.P is another one. I think they used it in a party film, can't recall the name though

Rama Djuhana

Man, it sucks trying to comment on this platform. I never know what posted and what didn't.... dude I bet you could play 20 Drake beats and beat Em, by public opinion lol now obviously I wouldn't agree with that... but I do think it's true. I think Em would factually come out on top.... but.... subjectively I think it'd be another story. Esp nowadays. Still on top of the world, not taking anything away from him. And still at the top of his game if not better than ever. I just don't think ppl check for him quite like they used to as a whole. And I think even then poppier, dancier sort of s@#t would prob win.. no wise man has ever thought much of the masses, for what it's worth. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm wrong...

Jeremy Dunfee

Well it depends who the audience is... if it was against Jeezy, Tip, Jay Z, Wayne, even 2 Chainz.... Em would get washed by public opinion. Nas, Snoop, etc may bring a slightly more old school and more hiphop-oriented crowd. Folks who are more attached to Em or care more about actual rap. I think he would beat J Cole or Kendrick because that would be a very hiphoppy crowd and Em can't be touched, there.... but even with the millions of Stans who JUST seem to like Em; not hiphop or the radio or anything, just Em(and f what other ppl say there are a lot of them) it wouldn't be enough to get him a W against a TI or Jay Z. Their fanbase is too big and diverse and their songs are too popular and multi-purpose. Hell, I love Em. He's in my top 5 and easily the most talented mainstream rapper ever. But I have to be feeling a certain way to play Eminem in my car. I can't jut bump Em at any time. But Jeezy...? Just about any time anywhere Jeezy is fine. Just being honest. If it's not an old school crowd, a Stan heavy crowd or a crowd that appreciates the art of rap.... if it's just a large mix of every day rap fans... 20 vs 20 songs... there are at least a dozen artists that could wash em, by public opinion. And it probably isn't fair. May not even be accurate. But it's the truth. It doesn't help that his earliest hits were trash and the shock value stuff turned many serious rap fans and casual music fans off before they ever got into Em... like... well, like you. Which is why this stuff is so entertaining to watch.

Jeremy Dunfee

I did a Facebook Versus, Joe Budden (me) vs Drake ... Joe is so outmatched hit wise that used Drake said if I won 5 rounds that I won.... All the weirdos were saying I need to play Pump It Up all 21 songs At the end of the day, the consensus was that I won 7 rounds and Drake mostly won off of singing tracks that got everybody’s hips moving or they just immediately knew his songs Fan base definitely plays a part

Daniel Burton

Yeah u made me think of something. . .Em also gets a crazy amount of hate from WITHIN his fanbase. Like. . .I think ppl would be hard-pressed to find another rapper with fans that put more pressure on them than Em's. I see Em fans online all the time trashing certain albums/songs of his. YouTube might be different bc ppl tend to click on what they already like but Twitter, Insta, etc r a different story. Ofc there r toxic dick riding fans too but isn't that just representative of how many fans he has? Like the bigger u are, the more fans u have, and the more toxic fans you'll have too. . .but that doesn't mean u have the highest percentage of toxic fans I mean...Nicki and Kanye fanbases r a couple others that have reps for being insane but I'd be willing to bet that they don't also criticize their artists like Em fans do. Idk, just a thought

Anna

Not true Stevie, the majority of Em Stans are very objective... there’s VERY few that ride with everything he puts out East Coast Stans are wayyy more subjective towards their rappers (especially Hov)

Daniel Burton

Hits are measured and nobody has the powerful hits Em has.... Em, Wayne, Ye, Hov and Drake have the most hits, they all have 20 strong hits but Em has like 5-6 that are unbeatable off rip Powerful Hits + Songs that get people through their day + Global Fanbase = Unfuckwitable (Those so called club/ car bangers don’t stand a chance when there’s 20M viewers)

Daniel Burton

I watched the vid even tho I told myself I wouldn't bc I can barely listen to Charlamagne😂 but anyways, it's like u said, music is SUBJECTIVE. Rapping ability ISN'T. I've heard ppl say Em is in their top 5 best rappers list but not in their top 5 fav rappers list, and I've heard ppl say (like Rakim) that Em is in their top 5 best rappers list AND their top fav rappers list, but I've NEVER heard anyone say Em is in their fav rappers list but not their best rappers list. But I've heard plenty of other rappers put in that category. Why? Bc if ppl don't confuse music with ability (or their favs with the best), and if they actually try to listen to artists without bias, they can't deny ability. Period. Charlamagne is a hater.

Anna

When you say objective....it sounds like "I need to hear music like you do" objective in a subjective art

Michael C

Well since when did a fan base or the amount of fans get discredited as the best rapper? If your good you draw a crowd. If you stay good....you keep a fan base and build. Its funny how people will disqualify the strengths of Em and sell or move what could be a weakness. This is Verses as in what had the biggest impact right!!? to the people for the peoples vote!

Michael C

😂 yeah I'm pretty sure Eminem himself doesn't like my name is. I remember him saying that it was meant to be purposefully sarcastic & he hated that the label tried to get him to make another one for MMLP

Anna

Ppl that aren’t em Fans aren’t going to know Bad guy, no regrets, no apologies, lock it up, ringer,

steven

Oh also Stevie you should check out The Apple. It's an unreleased song i just heard it a few minutes ago and i think you'll like it other than the hook

Patrick Watts

Nate Diaz uses The Way I Am as the second part of his entrance theme lol or at least he has for his last two fights

Patrick Watts

I can barely listen to Charlamagne speak. The man has never listened to Em's music like that and you can tell. I doubt that he's even listened to an entire Em album. That's the problem with these talking heads in hip hop media...they speak on shit they don't know about ALL THE TIME. In sports, the sports analysts can still be biased, but atleast the majority of them actually watch the games that they comment on

Anna

I bet if Em wanted to make club tracks he could possibly produce and have popular artist ft on them but he is deffo more about music people can feel and resonate with. A lot of kids as teens at the time will of been pissed at their mams and probably buzzed over his hate towards them too. As Stevie said its the fans opinions. Some tracks wont gel with some fans and other tracks will, we just listen to those tracks less 😅

Luna Raven

You should do ur EM 20 Stevie

Matt KBD

We had a hip hop section on one of the floors the club i used to always go named zanzibar before it got nocked down, we used to have a request hour there superman was one of the top 5 em selection and forgot about dre too 🙂

Luna Raven

I'm so glad you pointed out the "club" thing, like do people really be living in the club? Songs like The Real Slim Shady (imo better than My Name Is), Lose Yourself, Till I Collapse, The Way I Am, Cleanin Out My Closet, Not Afraid, Forgot About Dre, etc. reached SO many people! Thinking about it, the majority of The Eminem Show has dope beats AND content that's relatable.

DesertKate Walker

Shake that was played ALLLLLLLL the damn time.

Kaya Zelonko

Ok I didn’t a little research. Here are some songs of Eminem. That even not Em fans know, that he could use in a vs. Lose Yourself Till I Collapse 8 mile When I am Gone Mockingbird Cleanin out my Closet Sing for the Moment The Way I am Mosh Stan Bad Guy Forgot about Dre Drop the World Love the way you lie Monster Not Afraid No love Toy Solders Venom Fall Godzilla Lucky you Ringer Lock it up No regrets Rap God Renegade Monster Superman No Apologies That is just a few. I think he will when because of the shear volume of his music

Royal Williams

Ikr! His drug days was when he had stuff like that. That was never the type of music he really wanted to make, at least not when hes sober.

DesertKate Walker

Charlemagne saying " Em got no club bangers" sums up the entire group of people who value songs being great as club songs, that aint music bro, fucking bitches, hoes, ice and drugs is what your whole culture looks for? Fuck outta here

Jason King

Shake that, smack that and Superman are all that I used to play in the club all the time when they came out. Superman not as much, but the other 2 were club hits for sure.

Mike Livosky

I aint ever seen this dude and only know him from Em mentioning him in lyrics but this dude is clearly salty over Em 🤣 a few i used to hear regular on nights in a club would be em ft nate dogg shake that, em ft akon smack that, em superman, em white trash party, em ft obie trice drips are just a few dance my ass off too 😅

Luna Raven

You cant have an objective audience, because what would be the point of the versus? Its fans against fans is it not? Like how can you have an objective audience about something that judges who likes something the most? Whose the judge? What point is the battle? I feel like the only ones who say Eminems fans would ruin the versus is non fans of eminem, it makes no sense?

Jason King

Did I not watch this already? Im getting hella deja vu

Kaya Zelonko

If Eminem started off with "Hi My Name Is" and then kept rattling off all his biggest bangers like "Loose Yourself" and "Monster" & "No Love" and ended of with his bangers off of Kamikaze and MTBMB that the hating ass mainstream probably hasn't even heard yet because they just refuse to even give Em a chance with his newest music, HE WOULD FOR SURE WIN ANY VERSES AGAINST ANYONE.

WILL PULERA

I watched this today lol. Weird
