In Canada anyway. He dated Drew Barrymore at the time. The scene in the movie is unbearable to watch, the only movie I couldn't finish it was so terrible and gross!! Yet Em was the bad guy!

The fact ppl couldn't believe a white boy was spitting like this, and Em was making fun of them, still amuses him (Em's also his favorite Battle Rapper). Will Smith - Em didn't like him basically dissing Gangster Rap cuz that was a shot at most of his childhood heroes. Christina Aguilera- she was doing an MTV special with several girlfriends playing her favorite videos. Em's at home with MTV on, sees she picked "My Name Is" and thought that was cool. Then Christina started telling them she thinks he got married (she didn't know for sure, and the label wanted it secret) to Kim the woman his kills in his song (97 Bonnie and Clyde) AND THEN starts talking about how any woman being abused should leave and never let it happen, etc. Em's like "She's talking about shit she knows Nothing about, and rumors she heard, so I'm going to talk about some of the rumors I heard about her!" 😂😂 Em said "My Name Is" became VERY CHEESY to him after a few listens (he doesn't like it), and so did The Real Slim Shady, so he figured out that was the formula for a lead single. 😂

It's got to the point where I really don't even bother with too many other channels much anymore. Stevie's intelligence, passion, and authenticity are too good man.....other reactors seem boring, fake or miss too much. Stevie's blasting them out the water🤷♀️

He got 100 guys to dye and cut their hair and dress like him, so they could enter the building from out on the street, all marching behind him. The "copies" in the background behind the artist. It was a groundbreaking visual that had never been done before, and is commonly replicated still to this day. When you dive into Em's career, whether lyrically, visually or conceptually (e.g. "Stan" - literally now in the dictionary btw), you really start to appreciate JUST HOW MUCH HE FUCKING INVENTED! The layers of how and why he became a pop culture icon are endless.

Em had a meeting with Interscope and they basically told him the album is too dark and heavy and needs a lighter/fun track as a single for the radio and to basically market the album like he did with “My Name Is”. So the skit with Steve Berman is somewhat of how it went down when they basically said give us another track to lighten up the mood. But instead, Em decided to write “The Way I Am” venting his frustrations at the label and his fans etc lol afterwards, he he managed to write and record “The Real Slim Shady” before the album deadline. That is why “The Real Slim Shady” is the first single which basically introduced the album to the public. Interscope was using the same formula as they used for “My Name Is” on the SSLP. Crazy to think that the MMPL was initially missing The Real Slim Shady and The Way I Am which are a few of the most popular songs on the album and up there with some of his most famous songs of his career.
