This song was never meant to be released (and it wasn't, it was leaked), it was just for himself. Rap is his therapy so to help himself cope he recorded this, supposedly (probably) crying in the booth while he did it. Proof's death is a huge part of why Em's drug use got so bad that he ODed and almost died (according to Royce, he DID die and they had to revive him). He couldn't get through the day because of the grief, so he would take sleeping pills and sleep the days away. He said something like "I just wanted to lay in bed and cry all day" in an interview once. They most likely blocked you because of how personal, emotional, and private this song is - or was supposed to be.

Many of his songs about that time period say it, so I'm still Amazed he found the strength to recover. And there was a LONG list of things to fix. Anyways that's why Proof was so important to Em, why losing him like broke Em, and why we ALL admire Em's ability to come back and blow himself up again. I'm not sure that's happened in music, like Em did. Sorry it's sooo long Stevie, but it's an important part of Em's live

She also moved Em every few months (literally never had a job), so Marshall's only friend when he was his young was his Uncle Ronnie who was 2 months older than him. He lived with Em's grandmother, so when Em and his mother had nowhere to live they stayed with her. At 18, Ronnie committed suicide by shooting himself in the head, obviously Marshall was devistated. Then his only uncle killed himself too (also his moms brother, but they weren't close). I say all that to explain why losing Proof destroyed Marshall. Proof taught him how to throw a punch and defend himself. Proof gave him shoes, cuz "I'm sick of seeing those nasty sneakers." Proof would sneak Em into his high school and they'd run the "white boys can't jump" scam with rapping, lmao. Proof pushed Em to rap, and gave him the confidence. He even arranged a small group of 10 ppl for Em's 1st attempt. Just like we see in 8 Mile, Em straight up says "Proof was his ghetto pass, the reason people stopped fucking with him." And how Proof pushed him saying his skin color won't matter when they know how good Em is. He stood beside Marshall, and encouraged him, through everything. Proof was also there through ALL the Craziness of Em's mom, and Kim, like all best friends are. And Then Em blew up, and the world came crashing down on Em in many different ways, and Proof was Still standing beside Em as group mate, hype man, and best friend, holding him down. Proof was Em's BF, Brother, Mentor, his Rock. Em's drug problems
