It opens with Snoop pulling Kendrick out of the water he's drowning in at the end, the metaphor being that Kendrick was gonna drown in the deep water of Compton's gangbanging scene, but rap saved him by giving him a way out. Dre excels at using an album to tell a whole story, and those two "chapters" go together *so damn well.*

The way songs flow works well and everyone who is rapping or singing brings their A game. You should definitely revisit it.
