Imma explain it one more time, the gemstones themselves are more like storage devices for the weapons and some gems can even out items in, like pearls can hold extra items in so they can be better servants as storage too (remember when in season one she took the police tape out of her gem). The weapon's each gem has is purely based on their own preferance as to what they preferred. One of the 5 rubies that came to earth and the one that tried to kill Steven in the bubble in space had a chisel type weapon, not a pair of gauntlets like our ruby does. So each gem has their choice of weapon, and somehow Roses shield was preserved within the gem even after her death. That's why everyone was so surprised he even had his mom's shield in episode one, because they didn't know how a gems "memory" would function after a birthing.

2022-07-28 01:14:14 +0000 UTCThose weren't just any gems in those bubbles, those are all the other Rose Quartz gems, the ones who weren't the rebels but the ones still loyal to homeworld, they merely bubbled them cuz one of them, our rose decided to stand out of line and kill a diamond. So those bubbles Signal to Yellow a symbol of the one who killed her sister, Pink. But Blue thinks of the Rose Quartz's as all that's left of Pink. nd the diamonds don't really "make" the gems, it's that they put the injector's in the stone and they begin planting the gems in.
