Tomorrow's post, shit bout to get interesting 👀

SHOULD WAP BE THE FEMINIST ANTHEM?

Comments

I don’t like wap but I support there right to make it and put it out .

nick kelly

I never had to listen to this song to tell you whether or not Cardi B was advancing feminism. She's advancing it in the same way R Kelly did. I mean, idk if she peed on anyone...but if news broke that she did, I'm sure AF not gonna be surprised. People who aren't good at shit have to find other ways to get paid. Like drugging, raping and robbing people. Or, making a song called 'Wet Ass Pussy'. Or, in this case - both. I wouldn't consider Cardi B trash - cuz sometimes, you can find something of value in trash. *shrug*

I mean to be rational, if you really want to make change in the hiphop community, spreading negative messages like about pills and stuff does more harm than good. I do believe parents should be in control of their children and separating the reality from the false reality. So I think the end-user responsible for negative influence is on the parent, but the artist is also semi-responsible for spreading a negative message. Not that they shouldn't, but the truth is the truth.

I think anyone can think this is empowering but is it REALLY? This song does the same shit that rappers that brag about pussy does; nothing. It's not a meaningful message. It's not lyrically breathtaking. I'm sorry but I don't think two women full of plastic is exactly giving the "positive" message people think they are promoting. If you really want to promote girls to feel good about themselves, why is it every time I see a message, it isn't about acceptance, but more so changing shit and using your body. If you want to talk realism, using your body like these women say in the song, is not success, or anything that any other woman can't do. I understand the song is fun or whatever, but it's not empowering, factually. This song isn't going to change anyones life. Let's also not forget what Cardi B did to men.

Big facts 👏

Kaya Zelonko

I’m a parent and my kids do not listen to wap 😂

Kaya Zelonko

I grew up listening to foxy brown Ill na na so this ain’t new

Kaya Zelonko

you bs. You don't know until you have children. Tbh, once you do, you'll realize, as a father, you'll take that into account. You have a stand point as a non parent figure. Which is the point.

Jonathan Nelson

RA the rugged man video for WAP remix 🤣

Steven Ferns

No. Just women with 2 or more STD's.

Jimmi Rickets

Yes Tierra Whack! "Unemployed"

Erin Liebner

Joey Nato saying WAP is the closest thing to audio pornography 🤔. Guess he hasn't heard Project Pat- Run a train

Ayo big dawg

Meh.. I don’t care about it. You should react to some Tierra Whack.

I’m not telling women anything. If this is empowering to you, good for you. I’m just saying i don’t think this is a feminist anthem. Rather the opposite.

Tom Zoeter

And what about the women who do feel empowered by the song? Its not made for you so who are you to tell them what to make? You can think they are wack ass rappers but its funny seeing dudes tell women what is and isnt empowering. The world can co-exist with Rapsody AND Cardi B both making the kinds of music they feel empowered by.

I swear I am getting off the internet soon

Classic shock rap click bait song that divides opinion and causes hysteria. Great marketing ploy, I wouldn’t look at it any deeper than that. It doesn’t uplift or detract from feminism, it sells records -and that’s all it was designed to do.

Ryan Grant

It's not my cup of tea but it was genius really. Think about it, this songs has been out for how long and people still talking. People doing exactly what they wanted, even the people hating they listen to it to bitch about it. Guess what just cause you listen to it to tear it down you are helping them to get paid and at the end of the day that's what it was all about. Music is subjective 10 people can listen to the same song and give 10 different reviews. If it empowers you bang that shit daily and if it offends you keep it outta your playlist. It means different things to different people and that's ok.

Robin Gibson

If you dont like what they saying don't listen, and I have 3 daughters and I raised them to think for themselves not letting others do their thinking for them. If they wild out that shit is on me not Cardi B, get the fuck outta here. I grew up in the 90s and I wasn't out there acting a fool because I heard some Em. Where people fuck up is letting YouTube and Snapchat raise their kids cause they're too lazy to do it themselves. Teach your kids to be good people and strong, I tell you right now for a fact not one of my daughters heard WOP and went out tossing it around cause they saw a video. Women and Men alike can talk about whatever you want, that's the beauty of this world we live in, dont like it, change the channel. Fuck, quit being so soft.

Robin Gibson

Never played the song. Matter of fact I dont listen to none of these 2. When I hear female empowerment, I think about Rapsody or Lauryn Hill. But the audience wants what the audience wants. Wet pussy cant be an anthem though 😆 Rapsody’s Eve album is a perfect example of female empowerment. Every song tells a story about a woman.

Kostia

When i see that video there is only one thing on my mind, and it’s not oh my look at those strong independent women running their own business lol. If anyone would be able to make a feminist Hip Hop Anthem it would be Sa-Roc or Rapsody and not those 2 ratchet ass using pussy for clout ass wack ass ‘rappers’

Tom Zoeter

Nah, It objectifies women and that’s just what feminists are fighting against.

Tom Zoeter

Just imagine how Fetty feels

cr!t!c

We gotta get you up in these conversations

cr!t!c

I'm with Jlaroch. It sure doesn't empower me!!!! Does men feel empowered if a man makes a similar themed song 🤔

Janni Nielsen

As a women, I would have to say no. That is not empowerment.

Julie L

I get the point of wap. But man that song is ass
