My main gripe with this season was just how little they did with Lars and exploring his potential for powers. It felt like the team was like "oh right, Lars is still in space. Gotta go check on him." My dream is to one day get a spin off about his and the Off-colors' journey from Homeworld to Earth

i think there was a multitude of factors that went into why it was rushed, however i think it was executed well. the “no you” remark steven made to white honestly was amazing because its such a childish response, which is EXACTLY what steven and pink struggled with through the entire series. i also feel the diamonds were fairly fleshed out because although we didnt see it, blue and yellow were unhappy for a long time, and white being off-color helped whites trajectory. I would probably say most of their arc happened in between s5 and the movie since its 2 years in the future and they all act much differently then when we last saw them.

My thoughts on the ending as an SU fan: (1: This is my opinion you can enjoy the ending I’m not here to tell people they can’t I’d just like to say how I feel on it. 2: ik its not TECHNICALLY the end of SU and ik the ending had to be rushed) For me as much as I love the show, this ending kinda sours my experience of the show. The main issue I have is all three diamonds get redeemed in the span of one episode, it kinda felt like the show was looking at a checklist of things needed to be done before the show ends (e.g the new fusions we see in the episode) and was just ticking them off. It also annoys me how quickly the diamonds were redeemed especially when lars and peridot had long character arcs spanning a course of a few episodes or a whole season which felt satisfying and justified. The main thing i enjoyed about the show was the small details, lore being sprinkled throughout and the slow build up to the main evil of white diamond, so having a 5 season long build up to confront white diamond be resolved just by steven basically saying “no you“ at the right time kinda hurts. It also kind of upsets me the show didn’t redeem jasper, because in my eyes she’s far more redeemable than the three space dictators. Again I’m not telling people they can’t enjoy this ending, Just voicing how I feel about it, if you read this far lmk how y’all feel on this ending!
