They were both looking for a break, Dre was already a monster of course but he was struggling on his own to find his next thing. Another slim is hammered. Stage diving(can’t even do that anymore) talking shit to the crowd. When he does his verse to scary movie with Royce from one in 97 I think in front of most 500 people packed, he goes nuts. Incredible performer.

He had an idea..... people didn't like the 'clean' Infinite album so he tapped into his alter-ego and thought maybe violence and craziness will grab some attention. Em reflects on that in his 2nd letter to Hailie in Castle: "My Infinite CD flopped, too many soft tunes / They're talking bad about Dad, it's ticking me off too / Makes me feel like I don't belong or something / ooh I think I might have just stumbled onto something new / Got a prediction for the future, hoping that you open this envelope when you're older and it holds true"

There's a few you've heard (like rock bottom & if I had) bc some of those songs were used for his debut LP when he got signed..but hearing them again might hit different anyways now that u know the story a little better
