EMINEM - BLACK MAGIC FT. SKYLAR GREY - REACTION

Sorry 4 the wait lets go!

EMINEM - BLACK MAGIC FT. SKYLAR GREY - REACTION

Comments

I’ve been looking to see if anyone’s figured this bar out. I think he’s literally meaning “I’m the same size she wears” if she wears a 5 in a half size shoe Eminem is only 5 foot 8 so he’s probably saying I’m I’m five in a half feet tall, like her shoe size. I think that makes the most sense to me honestly

Manny

Yeah Em said in an interview that that’s the plan. Black Magic is the prequel to Premonition which explains why he’s killing a woman who’s a metaphor for the beat, he’s actually murdering the beat that’s the idea of the album

Edwin younes

My guess is that the end of this song connects with the first track on side A. There are the same murdering sounds at the start of Premonition, where he eventually buries a girl. If you try to listen one after another it makes some sense, but the theme of the 2 songs it's not the same. Maybe these songs were met to be on the same album, but I don't know.

Bogdan Pantelimon

He couldve meant nitrous cause thats what they use in hospitals to put you under... it makes you feel numb so that you cant feel the pain of surgery

Tyrone Shemlowski

Whoever typed these lyrics is a dummy, he said “knife as” not “nitrous” - among many other mistakes

Tyler Carroll

This is why I don't like "fan made lyric videos". 1/2 the time they are wrong, and the other 1/2 they are trying to be "artistic" with the presentation and break up verses in the wrong places. I prefer the "official" lyric versions, the basic white words on black screens type that are normally released on "official pages". At least then you know the words that are MEANT to be used and where.

Herrzimm

You really shouldn’t read the lyrics. Half the time they are wrong and it’s just confusing. Just sit back, close your eyes and let shady transport you. You’ll still catch them bars. Fire reactions though

Brian

Referencing his love for the rap game as the “bitch”

Damon LaBorde

I think your 100 percent right. The murder scene at the end of this song is the beginning to premonition. Which was 100 percent him murdering the rap game.

Chris

Also, "She's got me under her thumbnail," makes me think of Thumbnails on videos, and we talk all the time about how including Eminem in a video title/thumbnail is so commonplace for clickbait, and Em knows it, but he can't stop giving into it because he loves hip hop.

Ricky St. Augustine

"I don't buy her designer because I don't pander." The artist Designer made the song Panda (which is how he pronounces "pander"), which he seems to think panders the Hip Hop culture, which is why he won't work with Designer to make music to sell.

Ricky St. Augustine

I'm pretty sure the line about wondering what her insides look like is a reference back to Gnat's Marilyn Monroe lines. She had vivid nightmares (potentially due to the heroine and other drug use) that she wrote about in her journal. In her most famous one, a doctor cut her open with the sole purpose of just seeing what her insides looked like.

Ricky St. Augustine

This might come off bad, but I think "Black Magic" is him referring to hip hop explicitly. I'm pretty sure he was really into magic as a kid. Regardless, hip hop was like magic for him because of how it changed his life, and hip hop is built upon black culture. Black magic is also something that used to be used to help heal people, then mainstream (white, Christian) culture called it devilish, then it became a cool spectacle that people fawn over, and for the most part, only the people who conduct the act actually understand how it works and what makes it truly impressive.

Ricky St. Augustine

I got Third Ernest in my right AirPod and Stevie in my left breaking down black magic and book of rhymes. Em gets some kick ass beats on a coupe of these song game over. He is on such a different level with his pen it’s not even close. You cannot know what you’re talking about and deny that. I give up trying to say he’s not the best ever.

Chris Sturgill

Hey just wanted to mention this, it’s a metaphor for the rap game, which is why he says blood on my mic cause he’s killing the game but he also loves her, there are a handful of songs on this album that’s a metaphor for the rap game and his love/hate relationship

William Bolen

Also he can be talking about the game in general how he went deep with cuts and all that and killed the game “her”.. could be..

Adam Kablan

He wasn't saying nitrous, he was saying the knife jabs and it slices. Since he getting stabbed in the back..

Stealum Willum

"No turning back, I'm blacking" Maybe Em is referring to that saying "Once you go black, you don't go back"?? Cuz he's killing his girl and going to get another girl (a black girl), so he is not going back..... Am I reaching?? Anyways, shout out from BRAZIL!!

Tiago Alcântara

I also think favorite bitch is very good too.

Gary Raffa

I love tone deaf. Reminds me of Ems older hooks. The sarcasm dry humor

Gary Raffa

The shoos are different but both Nike airs and the size so they got the same sole hence they are “sole”mates 😉 it makes perfect sense

Tobias Montana

I agree maybe it gonna take some time for people to catch up lol. Also his last verse on Higher is some of his sickest flow/writing he’s ever done

matt thompson

And then at the end he starts digging... it’s the prequel of Premonitions on the A Side. Fucking genius!

Kostia

agreed

Carl Fairbank

is it just me, or is These Demons criminally underrated? I see zero coverage of that song

Carl Fairbank

But he is talking about the game, the music game is his bich. that's why its music to be murdered by, he is murdering the game and seeing the insides of the game. Another clue is the last bar there is blood on my mic. Its genius!

anonymous

It’s really like he has to do this so he can teach himself to learn what else he can do

Laz

This one was dope. He just keeps getting better

Laz

Let’s gooooooo!!! Ready for ur head to spin off

Deann Bennett

cr!t!c

That imagine dragon scheme was tough. I had to google. The way he annunciated “dragon”, and I couldn’t connect radioactive to anything. Then ahhhhhhhh there it is LOL. I thought he was saying magic dragon for a sec, lol. Man Skylar’s voice.... She posted selfie vid doing chorus acapella, dayummm

cr!t!c

That's a good point too. It's an obscure line, but I think both of those fit the context.

Dustin Sisler

Lol maybe that person created their own accidental bar?

Mike

wrong lyrics af, it's better to follow the original lyrics written in the description box of the songs on Em's youtube channel, they're the real lyrics and no confusion

Habbylegions

Yea these type of songs ain’t for me but I get y others like it. I dont think it’s bad but not one of the top

Mike

Yea I know but either way Stevie will get the bars but I don’t see him liking the beat or chorus

Mike

Yes ... along those lines I also thought it meant that in a lot of ways they have stuff in common (I’m the same size she wears) but (like two different Nike airs) they just shouldn’t be together because even though they are the same size they are two different shoes.

Mrs. Smith

Yeah All three are the exact same

Jmjf18

It’s also how alfreds theme starts.

Angelo

😆 @desertkate as soon as I heard that song I tweeted “WHO’S MICHELLE?”

Mrs. Smith

Ok people saying wrong lyrics which I thought but when he was saying nitrous I was thinking em said his ass is whipped. Isn’t nitrous in a can of whipped cream or am I wrong?

Mike

I think the "I'm the same size she wears" line just means that he is the type of guy she goes for in a relationship. Someone she can walk over.

Dustin Sisler

He did talk about a woman on guns blazing. But, ur right its usually a metaphor, I was thinking that guns blazing was one too, til he dropped her name 👀

DesertKate Walker

I think so I don’t think these days he actually ever writes about women it always the rap game.

matt thompson

WRONG lyrics... they suck every time - knife is what fits in that scheme "And I got her back, but I'm spineless (Yeah) So when she stabs me in mine (Yeah) It's like I just can't feel the knife (What?) As she pokes, jabs it, and slices"

Toni-Ann

Yes! I noticed right away it’s how Premonition starts. Only seen one person notice that so far.

Mrs. Smith

Defo one of the weaker songs im a bit tired of his toxic love songs but LETSGO 🤙🏻

Kyle

Hey by the way, The ending screams of the girl dying are the same screams at the beginning of premoniton on MTBMB side A, the first track. Its almost like what led into the first album

Jmjf18

Does anyone else think this might be a metaphor about his music career or am I reaching? I know Favorite Bitch covers that but I wondered about this one also.

Mrs. Smith

It’s a relevant song for the time, though. And we all know how he feels about soft ass cancel culture. Plus, there’s a lot of subtlety to catch in it. I think he’ll have fun with it.

Justin Speer

I do too.

STARK

Favs off the album 1. Book of Rhymes 2. Higher 3. These demons

matt thompson

Well atleast he didn’t say he hated the beat lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

Michael manchester

I think the chorus is FIRE!

Jimmy McMinn

Sucker For Pain (which he said in the line before the radioactive line) is another Imagine Dragons song

Riipsaw

Tone Deaf’s a 🔥🔥🔥track tho.

STARK

Yeah that is so cool

Janni Nielsen

I’m sitting almost yelling KNIFE. Trash lyric video.

Janni Nielsen

I wonder how many people will get the " imagine dragon's " bar

Jason King

Dude these lyric videos are always fucked. “Nitrous “ lmao. (The knife )

Jeremy

Lyric video is wrong he wasnt saying nitrous, hes saying knife was or knife something

Jason King

Whoever did that lyric vid, Stevie didnt write the right word. Its suppose to be knife.

Sup, dawg!

Book of rhymes after alfreds theme!? Btw u gonna Hate tone deaf the beat n chorus r bad

Mike
