2020-12-24 09:07:08 +0000 UTCDre has writing credits (at least on wikipedia he does) but that can mean anything from giving input on a verse/song to writing the verse/song; for example, Em writes his own shit but other people are regularly given writing credit on his songs cuz they give input. There are other songs that Em's written for Dre where Dre gets credit too; basically Em puts the words together in the way only Em can (rhymes schemes, maybe not using doubles) and Dre dictates what his verse is about/things he wants to say, thats why it doesnt feel fake. I'm guessing that Em wrote Dres verse, at least partly. Either way, I've heard that the "sleeping with the enemy", "you a different MFer when you not with me", and "shoulda never let the dog(g) out of that kennel" lines are a shot/warning to Snoop. It makes sense, Dre had to deal with a lot of ppl telling him that the white boy he signed didnt belong and he doesn't like it when ppl see/talk about Em that way. I'm sure to Dre it's way worse since he brought both of them in. Snoop was commentin on Dre and how much time he spent with Em, so Dre raps: Shoulda never let this dog out of that kennel Wastin time debating bout Who I'm with when I'm not around Just dont forget who you fucking with when stepping on hallowed ground Credit to Makaveli13Xroy on YouTube for that last paragraph
