Beastie Boys played more like a garage band but were amazing at sampling and were and still are massive hip hop heads just like Em. I think if you listened to some of the beasties and even Run DMC, it’s not that it compares to K Dot or Cole, it’s in its own zone and there’s a lot that still holds up due to how well they synchronised on the tracks. Sure some of it sounds dated but no different to any other music of that era, and Em has sampled and drawn influence from that era a lot in his latter years, even doing an entire Beastie Boys style rap on Bezerk. The more you get into Em the more it would actually make sense at least to me to check his influences. You’ll start hearing it in Ems music more and be able to pick it out imo.

Anyone who’s ever claimed that Em is a cultur vulture should be forced to sit their ass down and listen to how much knowledge he has and how much he loves hip hop and hopefully they would realize how stupid that statement is (well Benzino won’t ever admit but he is just stupid and living in his own little world 🙄) And Em should be forced to start a podcast educating people on the history off hip hop!
