Mouse doesn’t know what it’s like to be every single black man. He also only gains empathy from the stories being shared with the music. Sure he has more experiences he can draw understanding from and may be closer to some of the emotions, but all of those stories aren’t his to gate keep. We all have different experiences in life and the ability to empathize is the only way we can begin to eliminate modern race problems. It all starts there. I get being protective of the culture and the stories, but if a white guy as sincere and knowledgeable about the culture can’t even speak without being taken out of context, I know how he expects to have a productive conversation with anyone. What are you doing using Internet services or the Internet in general? It was invented by white men. What are you doing using computers? It was invented by white men. Art always steals from other genres be it music or theater or painting. There is dialog between all of them even if wouldn't be one that we see. I understand why people think that hip hop is black and originates from black culture and I agree with that, because without that culture it wouldn't been here, but there is a lot of music and other art that has been done before hip hop that has made it possible to be born. I probably do not articulate it clearly what I try to say with all this..I just think that these things aren't as black and white as this whole race discussion makes it seem. They United all races through their culture and music. Over and over and over again. That being said, why can’t these men be proud of a culture that helped unite mankind. It’s an extraordinary accomplishment that out of injustice, black culture united races through music. It was a giant leap in bridging gaps between races. Few cultures have ever done this, now there’s a movement to erase that!?? These cats need to be canceled. Music is subjective, a song may have been written to originally be about the struggles of a black man in America, but I almost guarantee you every other type of people can/will find a way to relate to it. 2. I'm white and I only realized the other day that the only black people I know are my cousins (living in semi-rural WI will do that). Does my white Aunt with black kids know what it is to be black in America? Fuck no. But, does she understand it more than I do? Yes she does. She worries about her son going out with his friends. Shes worries about her kids just existing while black in America. I think this is what Search was trying to say. 3. Coming together isnt a bad thing! With the internet now, there was no way that hip hop was going to stay solely black music. It goes back to my first point, someone doesnt have to have the same experience as the song maker to relate to the song. Hip hop being as big as it is, its everywhere, so people from all walks of life have heard it. 2021-01-10 05:36:30 +0000 UTCI’m very white from sweden, trying to help my family and friends to see why BLM movement is a thing, ofc I don’t know everything and can only take from what I’ve heard from Americans and seen on camera, because here it’s extremely different, but I at least try to help them understand because most people here doesn’t understand why there was protesting this summer, most of my influences is black and that’s partially why but also because it’s about human rights and equality, but when someone like mouse speak it’s like I can’t do that because I’m white and I can’t say shit, I know it’s not what he said, but that’s kinda how it feels, it’s sad to see people are still trying to divide us when we should unite and destroy racism and try to create peace, it starts within ourselves, we gotta acknowledge what has happened in the past but move forward to a better future. Mouse is dragging us down and because he has a platform some slow people will listen him. This just made me sad honestly that people still think like this. There’s more to be said just about hip hop but this rant is long af.

I am a part of a generation that was caught between worlds where racism use to be and where it is now. Growing up, I had no prejudices or anything, even until now. It seems everywhere I look it looks like everyone trying to make white people feel bad about being white. Almost like the 60's reversed with black people demanding separate bathrooms from white people in some parts of the country, saying anything offense to someone of color is almost a death sentence, but they can say what want to me. I am afraid for my kids as they will receive this undeserved hate and adopt a hatred in return, continuing this cycle of racism

When I was rapping myself in the 90's and early 2000's, I'd hear the mildly racist comments about whiteboy this whiteboy that. But then the bars hit and people shut up. Ive never ever experienced anything like Serch did here. Even when I told a room full of rappers during a battle rap competition "what we can buy rap? We can fill your pockets? But we're not allowed to pick up this mic and rock it?" I didnt experience hate like this. Just wow. I blame things bigger than hip hop for whats going on...politics and shit like that

But just because I’m white, from Denmark and doesn’t eat, sleep breath hip hop, doesn’t mean I don’t respect and understand the roots off hip hop and the culture. No I will never know what it’s like to be a black person in america subjected to systemic racism, but as a human being I can empathise with it and say it shouldn’t happen - people should never be judged by color, religion or gender only by behavior. Since America was “born” it have build on black people being exploited, mistreated and looked on as “less than white” nobpdy is denying that fact. And there is still racism in the american society nobody is denying that either (well maybe white supremacists but their opinion doesn’t matter IMO) but hopefully these next years will show improvement and hopefully we will see an end to the systemic racism in America. I don’t even think that this mouse person is aware that what he is saying about white people is the same thing black people have been told for centuries “you don’t belong, your opinion doesn’t matter etc.” (or maybe he does know and doesn’t care 🤷🏻♀️) and I’m sorry that type of person is so harmful for bringing people together. He is the type of person that will make people not respect the culture because all of a sudden it is turning in to a blac vs white. And I’m sorry that is not how I see hip hop. Why isn’t he proud of all these different races wanting to be a part off the black culture? Maybe “part off” is the wrong thing to say, but respect and love black culture is a better way of saying it. He couldn’t have been more empathetic, pro hip hop and its black roots if he tried. He agreed with their original premise. He tried to explain why he agreed by sharing his life experiences as a white rapper who was involved in hip hop’s birth in New York in the early 80s. Serch has done more good for the hip hop culture than all these clowns combined.
