It has to do with how she really wanted to learn magic growing up even though she's basically the Zebra countries' equivalent to an earth pony (the other races being Abada and Kelpies), so she started speaking in rhymes because a lot of spells have rhyming (or something like that). I won't spoil what happens in the comics because it is definitely something that needs to be read in context, and is totally worth giving a read if you can!
