So it was imagery. Instead of hand across bowing, his hand is stabbing himself. Reference is irrelevant, but shows his thought process

2021-01-13 02:26:19 +0000 UTCI think I've been guilty of mixing up when Em uses Homophones before on a post, and 'pride'/'pried' here is definitely a Homonym, but more specifically it's a good example of a Homophone. A Homonym is the umbrella term for Homophones and Homographs, which have slight variations. Homographs are words that have the SAME SPELLING yet meaning DIFFERS (Can I help you? vs I'd like a can of stew) whereas a Homophone is a word, or group of words, that sound similar yet the SPELLING DIFFERS (flower/flour or him/hymn/hem, or heal/heel/he'll). Either way, Eminem does it all and it's dope to pick up on it cuz he's using them more often and started making fuller sentences with forms of Homonyms instead of just 1 or 2 words!
