I think that is the beauty of true lyricism, it takes time and multiple listens to truly understand what they are trying to convey. Kendrick is a true lyricist. The Game has skill, but I have not heard anyone talking about relistening to his songs and finding hidden gems years later..

When Kendrick had like 2 albums out and was already considered the goat (because people are morons) I couldnβt figure out why, there were a couple good songs in each but I had like 100 game songs on my playlist

He bodies when on a feature but I can't listen to his own stuff, I find it boring and never felt like going back to any of his songs. The Game however, I could put his albums on LOOP. The documentary 2.0&.5 is a classic. Neither in my top 5 but The Game is closer. I prefer Anderson Paak songs over Kendricks. J Cole over Kendrick too.

He has many different levels to his shit as far as what heβs trying to get across in a track. That being said he holds no mfing candle what Kendrick can accomplish in his tracks. Kendrick can talk about some gangsta shit. he grew up in that shit too. But he takes it to a whole notha level with his shit. The game cannot mess or be at the same same level of kendrickβs pen. Versus only talk about hits. Kendrick has whole albums that take you to a higher level. The game can be respected for what heβs done in hip hop as a Compton rapper. But Kendrick will be respected as what heβs done as a master level rapper as a whole.
