I kind of understand it but in the same time I don't. English is not my native language and that is where the issue comes. I get the word wigger after doing some google searching with it but is the person saying it to him father at 14 or is he the person who is father at 14. From some reason my brain just can not get it.

He thought that it was a symbol of the South, but it's not that. It's a symbol for hate and White supremacy. He seems to come to the realization that you cannot advocate for any type of unity while carrying around the baggage that flag comes with.
