It goes deep into some very personal and until then untold stories about how he almost died and decided to focus on health... how he almost lost his voice permanently etc. As a Busta fan it was entertaining from beginning to end. Eminem’s cadence, speed and bars on that song are insane while telling a story. Wayne rapped super slow with elementary bars. He fit so much in to every pocket, that verse is awesome! He kills Wayne with the first 4 bars.

They both brought it all on this one and it's just a matter of which one of them resonated with you more because it's that close. Neither one bodied the other on any one thing, but Busta did certain things better than Em and Em did certain things better than Busta. Either way, this was just a dope track of two hip-hop titans going at it collaboratively on a track.

2021-02-08 05:48:40 +0000 UTCAs a massive Em fan I agree wholeheartedly that Bustas verse audibly and energy wise was the best, in saying that just like you said, lyrically, Em had it in the bag and to me when it comes down to Hip Hop/Rap/Emcees, that's the difference between an L or a W so in my eyes I still believe Em has no L's in his bag hence why he's the GOAT of this rap shit. Busta is a solidified legend man, respect to one of the OGs and all his stuff is fire with unmatched energy. I guess it depends on how you look at hip hop, I know for alot of people it comes down to who slayed it lyrically but others prefer the audible side of things. At best if you're on the fence it's a draw, for me who is lyric driven, it's an Em W and for those who are emotion driven it's a Busta W. Regardless what a fkn masterclass in rap! Much love to everyone.

This one is certainly one of the ones that em lost on cadence and that never happens! On a side note this is why I disagreed when you said lil Wayne beat Eminem on No Love. You were caught on Wayne’s bars that you missed a heap of Eminem’s bars and em killed him with cadence. Maybe another 2.0 there too

If you maybe feel like you can’t match the other person bar for bar or in regards to energy, you attack differently to highlight what your strengths are. Like you said, Eminem has songs with higher energy, and I know busta has songs with more bars, but as MCs they chose to go with what they felt they needed to in order to “compete.” It is just really fun to think about.

2021-02-07 17:58:33 +0000 UTCKeep in mind that Em was the one that finally mixed this track together. Knowing THAT, you know that Em WANTED Busta to have that amount of raw energy on his verse. This track is an odd combo when you think about it. Busta's raw, guttural aggression combined with Em's mono-tone lyrics? This track is a case study in what Hip-Hop truly is about. It is the wordplay, the feelings, the back and forth, the competition, the camaraderie, the encouragement AND the trust that the person on the track with you will reach a level that they normally don't reach DUE TO RESPECT! And yeah, I agree. I think that Busta still comes out ahead due to that raw energy feeling. But it isn't a washout. Busta may have won, but he never took the risk of looking over his shoulder because Em was too close on his trail to take Busta's attention away from reaching the finish line.

Either the beef, the process, the back and forth, the desire to work with someone due to their voice or sound. They ALL make the track more enjoyable to listen to again and again.
