It’s kind of ridiculous that we have this slang word in the English language. That has positIve overtones for one group but if another group tries to use it in the same manner, they are racist and Open to having their lives dismantled. Given That black controls the “cool” in this country I believe it’s being used as a blunt exclusionary tool on a generation of white people that never really used the word in the first place. It certainly does nothing to bring the races together. Being married to a black woman and having a biracial little girl. Coming together is my primary concern. I see it’s application in rap music as a total crutch. Peppering that word throughout a record adds a little authentic flair. Filler for sure. Eminem deserves 10 points for making compelling rap without it.

2021-02-25 11:09:44 +0000 UTCHe’s right it’s the same when people say shit like beaner or joke bout tacos to me they don’t shit bout my people we were native warriors Kings and Queens, Chiefs and Medicine Men so I have to tell them bout my native roots and how we was treated by the “man” when they arrived in America. So for me even tho I’m from a black and brown hood I wouldn’t say the N word even tho I have a pass and grew up wit my homies bc I find it to be disrespectful. My house was spray painted with bright green paint huge letters read “spick bitch with swastika signs and the word beaner” all over the front of my house and I know how it made me feel and what it did to my kids so nah I’m good I ain’t saying it.

2021-02-24 22:21:39 +0000 UTCMy perspective it just causes division I fully get why the words been flipped and used like it is but I also fill like if we always looking back we can never go forward, I’ve had to explain to my 10 year old why some of his mates can use that word and he can’t and I just fill like we shouldn’t be teaching our kids this .... you no?
