Fluttershy also made the sound after saying "I'm the world champ you know. I bet you can't beat me!" to the CMCs in season 1 episode 17 (https://youtu.be/hMCW5wvg4lU?si=U-xFyF--VFE6N3zM). Anyway, next episode is episode 100!

So being jealous and possessive over his best friend possibly being taken, I agree is pretty good progression as a character. He does care about friendship more now and wants to be better. Which can now be seen in this episode even with his still ... rough edges, feeling pretty much immediate remorse once he gets what he's doing wrong. In genuinely learning a lesson this ep not pretending to have like glass of water and taking it to heart.
