People don't think of him because he's not an overly flashy guitar player, but he is undoubtedly one the very best I've ever witnessed. I would confidently put him up against anyone else on that list.

Stevie played complicated blues flawlessly. Satch did the same with metal. The list goes on and on. They've all given their own unique contributions to the evolution of an instrument whose boundaries are limitless. The guitars they pick to best play their licks by the way they pick their guitars makes it hard to choose who's the best guitarist to pick.

And he had a live performance it's called "Live at the El Mocambo" please go watch that video especially these songs, voodoo child, Texas flood, Lenny, and Little Wing you will never see anything like it. (Oh good this is El Mocambo I wrote this before I watched the video,,, just wait watch the other songs it's going to blow your effing mind).... 🔥 yeah like said above he is plenty of songs that he sings he's actually had a bunch of hits that he sings, but he also played lead guitar for David Bowie on his Let's Dance album.

He was the lead of his band and I could make the argument of Stevie being the Eminem of Blues where he takes black music and makes it his own and does it as good as if not better than other blues artists
