i'm SUPER late to this but twilight and sunset have the same singing voice! and since scitwi was becoming a main-stay in eqg, rebecca shoichet wanted to differentiate their voices more, leading to some experimentation with sunset. you can kinda hear in rainbow rocks that their singing voices are super similar, but by friendship games theyre WAY different. its brilliant voice acting on her part!

We call these animatics you reacted to "previs" in the industry. Previsualizations setup sequence timings for camera movement, and character actions like what people call animatics.
