RAP BEEF REVISITED - NAS - ETHER (PATREON REQUEST)

RAP BEEF REVISITED - NAS - ETHER (PATREON REQUEST)

Comments

For years I've said this, but where Nas "won" this beef was with production. Nas picked the best beat he could find and made the 1st single to his new album a radio banger Jay-Z diss track. That got all casual listeners to just instantly side with Nas. He also won over a lot of people that judge music by the beat 1st. Add those 2 categories of people together and you have like 75% of hip-hop fans. Having the general public thinking you won made it very hard for the people who break down bars to say Jay won. It made people sound like they were Jay Z super fans and discredited them by being against the masses. Jay himself gave up on it because it's pointless to argue with people who aren't trying to listen. When you break down the bars, Nas called Jay Z names like a big ass child and lightweight praised him at the same time. Jay hit Nas with more Hay makers in just the takeover, which was just a warning and if Nas respond he was going in on him. Then he crushed his manhood on Super Ugly. Nas never replied that I know of. The 3rd Jay song that a lot of people aren't hip to is on Blueprint 2 and called Blueprint 2 I believe. He destroys Nas again and closes the book. Then just to throw salt in the wound and let the world know who really won, he paid Nas $3M to sign with Def Jam, which he ran at the time in 2006, and had to sign the $3,000,000 check with his name. There was a picture on Def Jam with Nas happily shaking hands and getting the check. This all happened days after Jay Z made 40 richest under 40 on Forbes.

I never heard Jay's Track till you reacted to it....all I ever heard was that Nas said Eminem smoked you on your own shit. That was all I was looking for as an Em fan!

This timeline is all messed up. Ether is a response to Takeover not Supa ugly. You should’ve played takeover first, then ether, then supa ugly, and if you wanted to keep it going you could play the song blueprint 2. Also you can do kiss vs beans.

steven

I like nas as a lyricist but I always thought his beat choices were trash. I used to always get into arguments about this beef tho because I always felt like Jay won the shit, his bars were all haymakers. Nas was doing that MGK Rap Devil shit. Eminem - "Wait, you just dissed me? I'm perplexed, Insult me in a line, compliment me on the next" I'm glad you changed your mind on this, Ether was a banger for sure but he was just swinging wildly and missing Jay over and over while getting hooks to the face lol.
