2020-07-31 04:50:31 +0000 UTCBeware Stevie. REVIVAL is not the album you think it is! I'm a giant Em fan myself, but it's not the "woke" Em throughout all the album. You're in for a disappointment. Only songs from the album that are worth it are Believe, Untouchable, In Your Head and Castle+Arose. The rest are a mix between super pop songs (River, Like Home, Nowhere Fast, Tragic Endings and Need Me) or straight up DUMB songs (like Remind Me, Offended, Heat, Framed). And THAT's why REVIVAL got trashed. Not because it was a "woke Eminem". Just giving you the heads up.

Also for you, it would be some great context for Em's career - remember in your reaction to "Believe" - Em says that if people turned their back on him right at the moment he needed them most (after he has helped so many people through so much shit) he would never let them live it down... and he has NEVER let people who trashed Revival live it down. It is both hilarious and perhaps a bit insightful as to how he felt about the project.
